The Basics

Pass through the vast bronze doors and stand under the center of the dome, where light (and sometimes rain) shines down into the open interior, before learning about the building’s history and architectural design with a local guide on a small-group or private guided tour.

Many other tour options, lasting three to four hours, combine a visit to the Pantheon with skip-the-line entry to the Colosseum or other popular Roman highlights such as the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Roman Forum. You can also admire the Pantheon from the steps of the obelisk in Piazza della Rotonda.

Skip the Line: Colosseum and Ancient Rome Small-Group Walking Tour Including Pantheon and Piazza Navona
Carolina was a knowledgeable, engaging, thoughtful guide! She not only checked in with everyone along the way regarding needs, questions, and breaks, but also signed us up earlier in the day, before the tour, to give us a chance to get into the Pantheon. We ended up getting in and it was amazing! She said the Pantheon was not to be missed and she was right! We learned a lot that day!
Great tour but needs to be more upfront on not going inside the pantheon

Skip the Line: Colosseum and Ancient Rome Small-Group Walking Tour Including Pantheon and Piazza Navona
It was a great tour and the guide was amazing but I was disappointed to find out we weren't going inside the pantheon. It might have been my mistake from not reading the details more carefully but if I had known that I would have booked a different tour. I would still recommend to anyone that would like an great tour and to get information on the pantheon with our seeing inside
Excellent walking tour

Jewish Ghetto, Pantheon, Navona street food tasting tour
Our tour of the Rome Jewish ghetto, Pantheon and Navona Street food tasting tour was excellent. Our guide Virginia was friendly, outgoing, flexible and very knowledgeable. The foods we tasted were all delicious. We could not have had a better tour. We would highly recommend this when in Rome!

We had a great tour guide. Very informative I had a lot of history to share about the Colosseum. We only visited the pantheon but we never went inside with the tour. Not sure if that was to be part of the tour. And we never got to the piazza Navona. It was a good thing we had already been there on our own. Maybe we spent too much time at the Colosseum. But still highly recommend the tour
Very Informative

Small-Group Express Tour of the Pantheon
Our tour guide, Samuel, was very informative. He took his time and explained the outside and inside of the Pantheon. He offered to take photos of us and was very nice.

PANTHEON: its history, its function, its wonder. With archaeologist
Of all the tours we took on our European vacation, our absolute favorite tour guide was Olga. First of all, in the huge crowd of people she was so easy to locate with her red umbrella. As an Archeologist she was extremely knowledgeable of the Pantheon. Our son had an especially amazing time with Olga on this tour as he is a Classics major. Five stars to Olga! She is an amazing person and tour guide. If ever in Rome again we would definitely book with Olga again.
Great experience, great guide

Official Guided Tour of the Pantheon in Rome
It's a self guided tour so you go at your own pace. One should visit Pantheon at least on time if visiting Rome.

The Pantheon: The Glory Of Rome - Tour With Archaeologist
Our guide was rich in knowledge about the structure of the building. For my family we needed a little bit more about the pieces inside the Pantheon not just the structure. She was very kind and spoke great English.

Colosseum, Piazza Pantheon and Roman Forum Small Group Tour Skip the Line
Erturk was an awesome guide. His enthusiasm for the history of ancient Rome made the tour both fun and interesting. He was attentive to everyone's needs, especially with it being such a hot day. He led us to comfortable, shady areas where he took the time to tell us many fascinating facts about the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the Coliseum. It's hard to disagree with Erturk; the Forum is the most important historical monument on planet earth.
Great experience!

Pantheon Elite Tour
We had Jobe as our tour guide and not only was he great at knowing the history of Rome and the Pantheon, but his tour was probably the funniest we have ever been on! He was constantly making us laugh and also taught us the art of “photograph yoga” in order to take the perfect picture. He was able to move us through the Pantheon as a group the entire time without leaving stragglers, which is hard to do in crowded spaces. Very knowledgeable, great charisma, and overall very enjoyable.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Wear comfy shoes, as walking tours are among the most popular ways to see this site.

  • Book a bus tour or a take a cool walking night tour around the illuminated fountains and buildings to avoid the worst of Rome's heat.

  • Bring your appetite on a food tour of Rome’s historical center that passes the Pantheon.

  • As the Pantheon is an active religious building, flash photography and loud conversations are discouraged.

  • The Pantheon is free to visit and open every day.

When to Get There

The Pantheon is open and popular with visitors every day. To see the building buzz with energy, attend weekend public mass, held Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 10:30am. Though the interior is not open at night, seeing the illuminated ancient architecture after dark is worth a visit in itself.

Things to do Nearby

The Pantheon is one of Rome’s top attractions, but there’s plenty more to see and do nearby. Don't miss the stunning Gothic interior of the Santa Maria Sopra Minerva church, just one block behind the Pantheon; then, continue on to the Spanish Steps on the Piazza de Spagna or head to the Trevi Fountain to make a wish.
