The basics

Whether you’re visiting Salzburg on a guided day trip, as part of a walking tour, or planning an extended stay, the cathedral is a must-visit. The history of Salzburg Cathedral is a history of destruction and restoration. There’s been a sacred building on the site since the 8th century, yet the current building was constructed in the 17th century, damaged in bombing raids in the Second World War and was extensively repaired in the 1950s. Several interesting items in the Cathedral speak to its long history - the bronze baptismal font dates from the 1300s and was used to baptize Mozart himself; the two relics containing the remains of Austrian saints Rupert and Virgil, a holy Irishman and astronomer who came to Austria in the 8th century. Head down to the crypt to see the foundations of earlier versions of the church.

Most beautiful city in the world
Salzburg is an incredibly beautiful city, and Radius Tours helps you see it in a day. Verena was a wonderful and helpful guide, and the entire day was fantastic. I recommend walking up to the fortress. Even though it's a steep climb, it's very rewarding with a breathtaking view.

Salzburg Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna
The best experience I have ever had! Enjoyed everything about the tour/trip. Very well organized. Amazing tour guides and driver. Very comfortable and clean transportation. Everything was perfect…visited many beautiful towns and Salzburg was such a beautiful city. We took lots of pictures where the movie sound of music was filmed. I highly recommend this trip. I will definitely book all my future trips/tours with White Alligator tours… thank you all for a wonderful trip to remember.

Munich: Day Trip to Salzburg Private Guided Tour
Our guide, Natalie was excellent. Our driver to and from was also excellent. I got an email the day before the trip saying gasoline had increased 50% since we booked. Instead of $800 it should be $1400 but they will settle for $1200. If I want to continue I will need to give the driver $400 cash on the spot. We did and loved it, but how much did gas go up? We all road in the same car. This company might be a big scam.

Salzburg Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna
Peter, our driver and guide was amazing. Great knowledge of history and current news of Austria. I felt safe with him driving and he provided a wonderful experience. Our local guide (Dale) was informative and knew Salzburg very well, but the tour seemed chaotic and a bit hard to follow. I was more easily able to understand what we had learned after doing more research myself that evening. Overall, great trip!

Salzburg Sightseeing Small-Group Day Tour from Munich by Rail
What a terrific day in Salzburg with our guide, Paul. He was knowledgeable, funny, organized and witty all in a comfy laid back style. I knew it was going to be a good day when he launched into a version of "Some of my Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music on the train. He was one of the best guides we had during our 2 week tour through Germany. I would highly recommend this tour.

2-Hour Private Salzburg City Highlights Tour
Our guide/driver, Ben, was on time, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Tour was customized to us. Some city highlights and a few SOM sites. Ben gave us stories, insider tips, and extra highlights. He’s a safe driver and informative guide. He didn’t just have a tour spiel, but was able to answer our specific questions. Masks were worn consistently in the vehicle.
