star-5
Rancho Típico Don Juan, Horseback Riding tour
"This was such a lovely and relaxing experience while staying in Manuel Antonio. I ended up being the only person on my tour (unexpected but can’t complain!), which made the experience feel all the more authentic riding through Randall’s family ranch his grandfather built. Very serene and it was interesting to learn about the ranch and surrounding flora & fauna. I’m generally comfortable on a horse so wasn’t sure what to expect (sometimes I feel like horseback tours can be a little gimmicky), but this felt perfect for all different skill levels and was a great way to spend the morning taking in the countryside."..."

Rainmaker Park Hanging Bridges & Waterfalls Tour with Jade Tours
"Beautiful park with many hanging bridges and wildlife. We were the only ones on the tour and our guide Luis made it an amazing experience. He was super knowledgeable of the animals and plants, explained a lot of local customs/history, and was patient in helping us take tons of photos. The dip in the waterfall at the end was refreshing after hiking. It took us about 1.5hrs including pictures and was not very strenuous for moderately fit people. Lunch was great, a plate of local fare with juice, and right on time after we got back to the entrance. It was a quick and comfortable ride from Manuel Antonio area with on time pick up and drop off. Thanks again, would recommend this tour and park to anyone visiting the area"..."

Damas Island Mangrove Kayaking Tour from Manuel Antonio
"We were on a cruise and booked this tour independently of the ship. We were able to get picked up at the dock and they were very accommodating. The tour had only 6 people and two very informative local guides who spoke English well and knew a lot about the mangrove vegetation and animals. We spent over 2 hours going leisurely through the mangroves and saw many monkeys, birds, iguanas, snakes and a small crocodile. Paddling was very easy and we were able to go into some of the smaller channels which the boat tours could not get to and we could go slower and get closer to the animals. The guides were great about finding the animals and giving informative details on them. At the end of the tour we stopped back at the tour office where they served a local lunch of rice beans and chicken. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. Time on the bus only about 15-20 minutes each way. At our request, they dropped us off back in downtown Quepos where we could walk back to the ship. Use plenty of sunscreen, where a hat and while the bugs didn't seem bad, apply bug spray also. This"..."
