Private Glasgow Guided Walking Tour

Private Glasgow Guided Walking Tour

star-5

Glasgow is an incredible city with a unique heart. It is famous for shipbuilding, for football and for being the Second City of the Empire, but the thing that really makes Glasgow special is her people. Your tour is led by a Glasgwegian and will give you a distinctly Glasgwegian impression of the city. Anyone can learn from a history book, but your tour guide comes armed with the stories from their aunts, grandmothers and great grandfathers and will take you beyond the guide book and deep into their world. This amazing city, in which they were born, bred and brought up, is their passion and they see it in a way that is totally personal and entirely unique. On your tour, you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Glasgow's history, hearing about not only the famous names and faces, but also the lesser known stories of the ordinary people who made this city great and make its history special.

Gothic Glasgow Walking Tour
"Vincent was a very engaging and quite passionate about his craft. He has a well-rehearsed tour of the more macabre aspects of Glasgow's past. He kept on task and had about 12 stops where he shared history of the buildings as well as the occupants. He had a variety of props to help bring his stories to life - mainly pictures, but he also presented some of the "tools" used for gruesome discipline or torture. Between his stops, he engaged us in more modern talk (where we were from, where we were going). TIP: He is a music fan - get him talking about music from the 80's!. The tour is advertised as 1 hr and 50 minutes - we were about 2 hours, so he did a great job of keeping on schedule. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a historical and entertaining presentation of the darker side of Glasgow."..."
