There is a short segment where perhaps 90% of said hot water beautifully emanates before your eyes, from under giant boulders and from the river floor. This spot is particularly magical. Our pools, above the canyon floor, get their natural water from 2 artesian wells that access rare, underground rivers with water springs. So you can enjoy completely natural, thermo-mineral water at our deck-side pools.

The day consists of a moderate 2-hour hike alongside the blue waters of Rio Blanco located deep in the canyons of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano where you will spot wildlife with your local guide along the way. You will be lead along the shaded path that goes upriver, stopping by 5 different pools and passing through a stone canyon, caves and small waterfalls until you reach the entrance of the canyon that leads to La Leona waterfall. Here you put your things in a drybag to jump into the water and swim a short distance to the waterfall. The waterfall has a stone beach in front of it where you can take photos. There is also a nice pool to splash around for as long as you like.

Hike to the Celeste River is the sight of an unusual natural phenomenon where the river and its rocks suddenly turn light blue due to minerals washed off the ground into the river. These minerals are the result of the rivers location on the sides of the dormant Tenorio Volcano and the remaining vents from the depths of the volcano.  We will then follow the river downstream for a refreshing encounter with an enormous waterfall that spills down the sides of the volcano.
