The Basics

Book skip-the-line tickets to save time at the perennially popular Louvre or attend with an art expert guide for a more in-depth visit—art lovers and novices alike will benefit from such insight. Private tours are a good option for those with specific interests, while audio guides are also available. Alternatively, combine the Louvre with stops at the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Highlights of the antiquity section include the Seated Scribe and Venus de Milo. From the Renaissance, don't miss famous works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, and Titian. French 19th-century masterpieces include Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa and the work of David and Delacroix.

Louvre Museum Skip-the-line Private Guided Tour
Even though I have visited the Louvre several times, our guide Romain took us to new places and included an amazing history of the buildings and collections that make up the Louvre. The time passed so quickly.

Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Venus de Milo & Mona Lisa
The meetup spot was easy to find. From there our private guide took us into the Louvre and we explored with her. She was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to take us so we could view some of the most visited art, rooms and sculpters.

Louvre Museum Timed Entrance Access with Cruise Ticket
The Louvre is always great! Be aware you must go to the office of Paris City Vision and get the actual tickets then they will give you instructions on where to go to enter. We made the mistake of standing in line a few places and getting turned away before we finally were told by a kind young lady where to go.

I loved the app that allowed me to explore the Louvre at my own pace and provide background and structure. The boat ride was a great way to wrap up the day while leaving some additional time to explore the city.

Skip the Line Louvre Museum with Experimented and Professional Tour Guide
Ang made my tour to the Louvre fantastic! He not only thoughtfully spoke about the subject matter in question, but about the possible psychology behind the artist too. This made his tour especially intriguing. Well done Ang!!

Louvre Murder and Mystery Tour
Definitely not what was advertised- we were hoping for a more "off beat" tour of the Louvre and a different take on the works. Instead, this is a standard "highlights" tour with a bit of art history mixed in. Very informative, but not what we expected

Underrated Artworks at the Louvre

Most visitors flock to the Mona Lisa, but the Louvre is so much more than da Vinci's moody muse. Make time for Ingres' Grande Odalisque, an 18th-century nude; the cheeky 16th-century Gabrielle d’Estrées and One of Her Sisters; and a Goya classic—The Countess del Carpio. You can even explore the ruins of the fortress upon which the Louvre is built.
