Portland’s bike-friendly reputation makes cycling tours a great way to explore the city. There are many popular bike routes in the city itself, as well as routes that have you pedal through Forest Park, Columbia Gorge, and the nearby wine country.

Highlights
  • City bike tours typically last two to three hours, giving you plenty of time to explore.
  • Bike tours of the Columbia River Gorge or Oregon wine country are full days—generally eight to nine hours long—and include transportation between downtown Portland and the start of the cycling portion of the tour.
  • You’ll be outfitted with all the biking gear you need, and on longer tours you may also get snacks or lunch.

City Bike Tours
Exploring Portland by bike is a great way to experience the city like the locals do. You’ll cover lots of ground during a bike tour, and your knowledgeable tour guide will introduce you to some of the many businesses that welcome and specifically cater to cyclists. You can choose a bike tour that focuses on history, beer, or food—there’s something for everyone.

Nature Bike Tours
There are some beautiful places within easy reach of downtown Portland, including the scenic Columbia River Gorge and a number of wine-growing regions—and they’re all fantastic spots to explore on two wheels. A bike tour of the Gorge means you’ll also get to do some hiking, while any wine country bike tour includes wine tasting. You can also ride the miles of mountain biking trails in Forest Park without ever leaving Portland’s city limits.

Doughnuts and Coffee Bike Tour: Local Secrets

Doughnuts and Coffee Bike Tour: Local Secrets

star-5
3
Portland is justly famous for both its craft roasted coffee and its doughy sweets -- ride and explore in a 6-8 mile bike tour. 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, one doughnut and one coffee included! At our shop at 833 SE Main Street #121, we are also in the literal center of Portland’s craft coffee roasting icons (three of the city’s best roasters surround our block). We'll begin with coffee, tea or hot cocoa at a shop that roasts its own beans, and sample some single-origin coffee so we'll be ready for lots of sweets to come. The itinerary will vary based on doughnut shop hours, we'll typically introduce you first to a hidden gem of a shop — the one locals prefer — then head to the another favorite shop (famous for their apple fritters!) Portland’s doughnut scene isn’t just about eating pastries; it’s also about the culture that makes it possible. Did you know the doughnut-loving Homer Simpson was based off a Portlander? Which came first, the Homer doughnut or the city’s doughnut boom?

Tasting the Gorge by Ebike
"Tl;dr The tour rocked; the tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable; the views were spectacular; you can't beat wine and cheese. I scheduled this tour as a birthday gift. Having not done something like this before, I didn't know what to expect. At booking, I sent a message to Megan asking if we could bring our (well-behaved) dog, and she was totally fine with it! We brought our dog trailer with us, but it didn't end up fitting the provided bikes. Megan was awesome enough to run back to her home and bring her cargo bike which fit the dog swimmingly. We were very grateful and the dog got to tag along for the ride! Because of certain world events, I've been a major couch potato of late, but the electric bikes made everything a breeze. We went up and down some major hills, and I got to choose how much of a workout I wanted to put my legs through. We opted for the additional hike with a picnic, and I was able to (slowly) get up to the top, even after all that biking. At the top of the hike, we had an excellent spread with a local red blend wine from a Vineyard we passed along the way. We sat with a great view of the gorge while eating and learning about the area. Something to know: Street parking in Hood River is paid Mon-Sat. We parked in a max 3 hours location, but due to some luck, we were able to extend it beyond that. Sunday has free parking."..."
