Sunset Sailing Adventure on a Classic Yacht in the Heart of the Columbia Gorge
"This was an amazing adventure. My husband, son and I went on this sailing trip on a perfect night. The two owners were so nice and clearly focused on safety. They knew a lot about sailing! There is a max of six guests. (There were five on our night.) You can sit on the front (bow) or back (stern). You can also go hang out down below. They included a nice tray of food including fruit, crackers, hummus, smoked salmon, chocolates, and sparkling water. You are welcome to bring on your own food and drinks (including alcohol) if you want. The ride out and back takes two hours. It was quiet and beautiful. You get to sail into the sunset. The water is very blue and the scenery is just lovely. You can choose to just be silent or you can "talk up" the two owners of the vessel. They will let you steer the boat if you want. They will also talk about sailing if you are interested. Things to note: You do need to climb up three stairs and then climb on to the boat. This is not difficult. (My husband is 67 and has parkinsons.) But know that you do need to be mobile to get on to the boat. During the 2 hours, there is a lot of movement of the sails as you go out, around, and back. They will be pulling ropes and adjusting the sails. I loved it, but know if you are sitting in the back, they will be standing around you and doing this. It is part of the charm of this adventure. I can't recommend this enough. It was so fun, amazing, and beautiful. I hope if I am visiting out here in the future, I have the opportunity to sail again."..."
