Next, head to Standley Chasm for morning tea and a stroll along trails lined with acacias, cycads, ghost gums and cypress pines. Great day in paradise.

Karen was a great guide even though the day started slowly for her with the bus not likely the -4 temp for pickup. She gave us great information but also allowed us to enjoy the magnificent scenery by ours self. The information she passed on very useful for other places we visited while in the Red Centre.

So much packed in to 1 day - AMAZING!!

We had such a wonderful day trip with Karen as our tour guide - so many sights packed in to one action packed day, and so many stories and local tips, tricks and information we couldn’t ask for more! Karen did not stop all day with commentary, faces, figures and tales on the bus almost all day, and all the sights are covered - all we had to do was sit back, relax and enjoy. It was a great, fun group to travel with and Karen was so friendly and managed to cater to all age groups from singles, couples, grey nomads and even a young family with 2 10yo girls - we all had a ball!

An excellent range of sights

It was all wonderful because there was something different to experience at each site. The early morning chill in Simpsons Gap as the sun gradually came in, seeing people swimming at the waterholes, the amazing colours of the ochre pits. Our guide was very efficient and knowledgeable and made sure that everything ran smoothly.

We visited numerous places beautiful and rugged in their own way. Driver/guide James was knowledgeable, well organised and, we noticed, careful in observing one gentleman who had a physical disability that hindered him somewhat. Overall an excellent and full day in the West McDonnell Renges!
