Explore some of Barcelona's top highlights, including its incredible architecture and beautiful religious monuments, on this combo tour package combining two separate excursions together at a 5% discount. It's a great way to cover a lot of ground during your Barcelona visit, particularly if you're short on time.

Start your morning with an excursion to the famous Montserrat monastery just outside of town, meeting in central Barcelona for a departure at 9:15am. Weave your way through the scenic towns that line the roadside on the way to this beautiful attraction, eventually arriving at the Royal Basilica set high above the surrounding area on a rocky mountainside. This ancient religious site, which houses a carving of the Black Virgin (Virgen Moroneta) has been hosting pilgrims for centuries.

Get an overview of the monument from your guide as you learn about its significance to Catalonia and its many years of history, before explore the majestic setting and fascinating grounds for 2 hours at your own leisure. Meet again with your guide to continue the trip back to central Barcelona by coach. During the trip back, you'll have the chance to see the city harbor before reaching the bus terminal where you'll start the second half of your day exploring the work of Barcelona architect Antoni Gaudí.

Begin part two of your Barcelona adventure with a walk to the iconic La Sagrada Familia, known as the crown jewel of the many projects by Gaudí. Admire the exterior of this UNESO World Heritage-listed cathedral as hear about its construction from your guide and crane your neck up at its towering spires. Despite the fact work began in the 1880s, this incredibly intricate project is still under construction to this day.

Head next to Gaudí's Park Güell, an idyllic park adorned with colorful tile-covered benches, terraces and statues that's situated on the hill of El Carmel above the city. This eye-popping monument's beautiful decorations are known to attract huge lines at the entrance. Thankfully, you can skip the line using your fast-track ticket, spending the time you've saved wandering the gorgeous setting of this unusual park with your guide.

Leave the park and head next to the city center to admire the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Masterpiece from outside.

Remarkable history! Stunning Vistas! Gotta Try Cheeses!
, Sep. 2019
The drive approaching and up the mountain to Montesarrat in itself was worth the investment. Options at the top suited every traveler's desires. For those seeking geological phenomena, historical awareness, spiritual connection, thrill rides (by gondola or mountain (sharp!) incline, hiking on paved trails, or perfect photo opportunities, this tour cannot disappoint! Our time in Barcelona was limited, so the half day tour worked well, but on a second visit, we would spend a full day at Montserrat. The Gaudi tour was the best of our two week European whirl! Wish I knew the Julia tours male guide's name, but can say his vast knowledge, quick wit, storytelling prowess, and warm manner maximized our exposure to the quirky talented artist/architect. Julia agency folks devoted extensive energy toward helping us figure out transportation to our distant hotel. Pleasant, eager to help, and devoted to customer satisfaction.

Both trips were amazing. Enthusiastic en passionate guides. Especially the Gaudí tour, little details and amazing stories about the buildings and architect.

The half day trip to the monastery of Montserrat is enough to see the place. The place is serene and beautiful. We were lucky to hear mass inside the Basilica while we were there. Our guide was knowledgable but a bit sedate in his delivery of facts so it was kind of a sleepy ride. Were it not for him, I would have scored this 5 stars. Cristina, our guide for Artistic Barcelona tour, was excellent. She was passionate and well versed about the sites we saw. I learned to appreciate Gaudi and the other artistic sites in BArcelona through her narrative. She knewsubject matter and kept the annotation of the tour lively and interesting.

I would give 3 star for Montserrat Trip but 5 star for Gaudi Tour. I was handled by an agency called Julia Travels which was really professional, efficient, and on time, but the tour itself was so-so. For Montserrat, unless you're interested to check out the Basilica and get time out from the city to hang around in the compound of the cathedral up on the mountain itself wasnt very high, then that's OK. Not the most beautiful of mountains either in my opinion. Artistic Gaudi tour on the other hand was superb. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the guide but he was passionate and just very knowledgeable of the buildings he brought us to see. It was quite a long tour 3-4 I can't remember but definitely, definitely, worthwhile.

I went on this tour with my eldest daughter we enjoyed every minute, we would have liked to have gone up on the funicular railway at Montserrat but there were very long queues and due to the time allowed we would not have made it back down in time. But the trip was very pleasant and moving especially when the bells began to chime just after our arrival. During the afternoon the Barcelona Gaudi tour the guide was so informative he made sure we had a day to remember. Although some people were 'moaning' about the heat but this obviously was out of the guide's control! you cant please everyone. Be prepared for a lot of walking but you wont be disappointed. I feel we both learned a lot about Gaudi and a lot more. At the end of the tour we asked for directions back to the area of our Hotel and our guide was familiar with this and was extremely helpful. He did show some concern if I was tired, I was but I am so glad myself and my daughter went on this tour. We learned so much on the Gaudi tour.

The Montserrat tour was great, we had a lot of free time and did what we choose. The second part of the tour, the Gaudi tour was excellent. We saw more than we thought we would, the guide was great, very knowledgeable. She also helped us find out was back so we would not get lost!!!

The Montserrat trip was very nice except there is not enough time to get to the panoramic spots at the top for great pictures. I would highly suggest a separate trip there. The tour guide however was very mediocre. For you vegans out there, there is a great vegan restaurant-Veggie Garden very close to the Julia Travel Office where you start your tour. Excellent service and food!! The tour guide on the ArtisticBarcelona Gaudi tour was awesome. If at all possible do a day trip to Montserrat and spend another half day going inside La Sagrada Familia with a reserved ticket and a reserved Park Guell Tour with a tour guide.

A long but good day. Montserrat in the morning followed by Gaudi in the afternoon. Cant fault either trip even though the bus trip out to Montserrat is looong - I managed to catchup on some sleep, at the cost of some background info but :-. Mountain road also not trip for delicate travellers. I misread the Gaudi tour side and thought we would actually enter the church, but having seen the size of the queue I'm glad we didn't! I'd walked part of the outside of La Sagrada Famila a day or so earlier so it was great to hear some explanation of what it was all about. Interesting, but after a few hours I'm not still not sure what he was about or even on! Nothing against the tour but I think like all art you either get Gaudi or you don't ... and I'm not sure. What I would say though is, do the tour, appreciate the sheer brilliance and eccentricity of the guy and decide yourself ... or if you cant there is a delightful Irish pub just around corner from meeting / drop off point which worked wonders for me :- One downside to the booking process - I found the meeting place hard to find. Really would have helped if the name of the touring company and meeting point Julia Tours was better flagged on Viator rather then central Barcelona especially before the confirmation voucher issues. Would have allowed me to better map not just the route before I left home but also hotel choices. I was 30 mins away and on foot :-

We really enjoyed the tour to Montserrat in the morning, but the lines were so long we didn't have time to go inside to see the Black Madonna. But we enjoyed the ride through the countryside and the views and fresh air once we got there and our guide gave us a very interesting history lesson. We had free time to go to the museum or ride the cog train. Our complaint was there were so many people at the agency , the guides would make a quick announcement inside and lead the people out holding his sign about face level so the people on the sidewalk were never informed the tour was leaving. The guides need to have microphones so we can hear and sticks to hold up their signs. In the afternoon on the Gaudi tour , once again they put on on the wrong bus and we had to get off and join another crowded bus where 2 people ended up standing. We had 3 tours on board . We went somewhere and waited for a bus that came and got one the tours off our bus. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed his talk but at the last stop, when he finished talking he told us the tour was over and to walk straight down Passeig de Gracia to Placa Catalunya , when we got there, there are many streets leading off of the Placa and we were really tired . It took us about 30 minutes to find the right street to turn on there are several Ramblas , once we were on the right street we went into the nearest Tapas bar and drank much wine.

This was soooooo worth our money. To get up close to Montserrat was amazing and to get inside Park Guell was so worth the entire trip. I do recommend to bring some money because at the very end, you may want to see the inside of Casa Batlo. To walk the streets of Barcelona and see the architectural gems, is so worth the effort.

The trip to Montserrat was wonderful. The guide was very amiable and moved skillfully between Spanish and English. Her knowledge of the highlights of Montserrat was very helpful. The museum is absolutely amazing, I'm so glad she recommended seeing it. I could have spent half a day there easily. Hearing the boy's choir at noon was so lovely, even if they weren't the regular choir because it was on tour. The youngest members of the choir performed beautifully and filled the cathedral with joy. And the black Madonna was worth the trip. If you want to have lunch, pick it up at the cafe when you arrive and carry it along with you. We waited until the very end and everything was closed! Luckily we had some snacks of our own. There are lots of local farmers that offer their honey, cheese and nuts for sale - several to choose from and all are willing to give you a sample to try first. That and the gift shop with its lovely alcoholic beverages were a great local touch. The Barcelona Gaudi tour was excellent in terms of what we saw. Amazing, in fact. The only difficulty was that because we were outside for so much of the tour it was very difficult to hear the guide. Having an audio system with earbuds for the tourists and a microphone for the guide would have been better. She was so knowledgeable and I know we missed a lot of what she was saying because the background noise of traffic, other tour groups, other tourists etc. made it very challenging. We were a large group so we couldn't all stand right up next to her to hear. If you are planning on taking the package of 2 tours, just know that it is a long day and you'll be doing a lot of walking. It's definitely worth it and since we had such a short time in Barcelona it was the only way to make the best of our time. Very tired at the end and very glad the bus had been so comfortable and the guide so gracious. Would take tours with this group again.
