    Mount Kilauea was amazing and the lava tubes were incredible. I’m glad we had a guide, Leia, who took us straight to the best spots. Leia also took us to a local coffee mill, by the local farmers’ market and dropped us back in Hilo. Unfortunately, the orchid farm was closed (covid), as was the macadamia nut farm, which sounds like it may be a permanent closure. Had those been open, it would have been 5 stars

    KIMO ROCKS! Best tour guide EVER. Lovely person and so fully of island history and tours that even locals were asking him questions! Kimo went above and beyond to the point of allowing us to add onto our excursion. He knew so much about volcanos and kings ... oh goodness I could go on forever about this gem of a tour guide.     A Wonderful Mountain View Town Visit

    Our drive around visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with Malahini Tours exceeded all expectations. Driver Dan was wonderful, full of local insights, Hawaiian language tutorials, and legends. Well worth the price!! The tour included Hilo Coffee Mill where we learned about growing and roasting great Java and Mauna Loa Macadamia Corp where we sampled several flavored varieties of the nuts and learned how they are processed with minimal waste. We also stopped at Akatsuka Orchid Garden where they've developed thousands of new orchid varieties. While there, our driver Dan provided fresh-cut pineapple and lychee for lunch.

I believe we had a fairly unique tour of the latest fault area. Kimo's running dialogue throughout the day made this tour one of the most enjoyable that we have experienced.
