Estefan, the tour guide, was really excellent. All the stops were interesting and he was very knowledgeable. And helpful. I had a knee injury and he made a special effort to suggest places to visit that wouldn't too difficult. The tour was timed perfectly with enough time in each place. I used to work for two large tour operators and I now how these things can go wrong. This went perfectly. The driver was excellent as well, navigating tight roads. Thanks!

Unfortunately a motorcycle and bicycle race was scheduled for San Sebastian on Sunday and our Driver and Guide should have KNOWN and made prior plans to avoid driving into the road closure area, arrange route so the race would be completed, and drop point in close proximity to walking tour. Prior plans to cancel French border crossing changed the route already.

Wonderful tour, I’ve seen and learned a lot

Great tour! Stefan was a great guide. I went in November 2021. Because of Covid we couldn’t go to the French side, no Bearritz and no Saint Jean Dr Luz. I actually liked it that we could spend more time in Hondarribia and San Sebastián. We also went to Getaria. Although it was short and rainy, I was happy we went because it was the filming location of the movie Spanish Affair. Stefan suggested the movie Spanish Affair to us. When I watched it after the tour I was delighted to see how many specific details about the Basque Country I could pick up. I highly recommend you seeing the movie after the tour. And do learn some Basque phrases. It’s fun! Kaixo means Hello Agur means bye Eskerrik asko means thank you Couple of tips: 1. Wear layers. It could be very cold especially along the coast. 2. Do try out different Pintxo bars in San Sebastián. I recommend the dish served in a crab’s shell. I don’t know what it was called but it was delicious. I saw at least two places serving it and both times it was great. The name of the Pintxo bars are Casa Alcade and Baztan 3. Don’t be afraid of the crowd in front of the bar. There is no line. Simply grab a ordering sheet with numbers, survey the offering in the bar, and pick your dish. Alternatively you can order Pintxo Caliente from the black board

The guide was GREAT, however the tour I PAID FOR included a visit to Saint Jean, no one bothered to advise that was no longer part of the tour, highly dissatisfied due to that… otherwise good…

Great Basque Country Coastal Visit

The day was quite full as we visited numerous sites along the coast. Our van was safe, neat and clean. Our guide was from this area and he was very knowledgeable and courteous. We could not have visited so many sites if we did this on our own , when considering knowledge of the area, parking at all locations, and the guides' information. We really liked the visit to Biarritz as the views of the ocean were just wonderful.

Picked up at hotel on time. During the drive the guide provided great historical information about the area(s) traversing. Even during the light rains, the trip continued as planned. One short 30 minute delay due to bus non arrival. Guide should be more aware of location of slower walkers.

Very enjoyable day spent with our tour guide Stefan. His knowledge of the region and it's associated history was most interesting. The scenery in San Sebastián is magnificent especially from elevated vantage points. Had time to walk the streets and experience the culture and food. Recommended as a great way of spending a day is this beautiful part of Spain.

I have already written my review, but your silly website erased it all after asking for my password. I will give a quick review. Decent tour, a bit long with a lot of driving. We were only English speaking tourists in our bus, mostly Spanish tourists although guide did a good job explaining in both languages, I think the Spanish patrons may have gotten a little more info. Visited Biarritz, Saint Jean De Luz, and Hondarribia. All charming towns. We dropped off to eat in Hondarribia, wished we could have eaten in San Sebastian where we were going anyways. Wished more time was spent in San Sebastian. Beautiful buildings and beaches in San Sebastian. As I mentioned, we should have spent more time here, final location was a castle on a hill converted to an amusement park. A weird place, but excellent vantage point for photos.
