Ghosts & Gravestones Frightseeing Tour boards at the end of the Long Wharf Marriott at 200 Atlantic Avenue. Guests are required to check in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

This activity will end right where it started.
Boston’s original “frightseeing” tour is an evening of fear and fun. Climb aboard the Trolley of the Doomed for an experience unlike any other. Uncover Boston’s darkest secrets and hear the stories of those lost souls who many locals believe still wander the streets and alleys of this historic town.

Learn about some of the city’s most sinister characters, from Albert DeSalvo, better known as the Boston Strangler, to Jane Toppan, aka Jolly Jane, one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.

Walk through two of the oldest burial grounds in Boston, including Old Granary, the final resting place for many notable Revolutionary War-era patriots like Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Robert Treat Paine, plus Paul Revere and the five victims of the Boston Massacre. Also, visit the site of the biggest grave-robbing scandal in New England’s history.

Come with an open mind and see if any ghosts appear. It’s a ride on the dark side.

Ghosts & Gravestones
Step aboard the trolley of the doomed and join your host, a 17th-century grave digger, cursed with a sentence of eternal damnation. This wretched creature is doomed to travel the streets of Boston and relay the stories of the unfortunate souls he encountered and the macabre events he had been witness to during his purgatory. Hear about Boston's most sinister characters - from the Angel of Death to the king of all killers - the Boston Strangler. Learn about all the haunts that call the "Hub" their home. But that's not all! Step inside two of the oldest burying grounds in Boston for a walking tour you will never forget. Learn the significance of much of the imagery found in these 17th century burial grounds and the famous and not so famous (but even more interesting) occupants therein. Visit Copp's Hill Burying Ground in the North End, nestled atop the tallest point in one of Boston's oldest historic districts. Here you will visit the final resting place of Cotton Mather, a man famous for his "intimate" involvement with the Salem Witch Trials. Then to the Granary Burying Ground where you will visit the final resting places of many of the famous heroes of the American Revolution including John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. Remember that half of the tour is walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended (so you don't become "dead" on your feet)!

Atticus Nobody and the Graveyards

Atticus Nobody was everything … enthusiastic, interesting, and a great teller of tales. The ride was smooth as it can be on city streets. The stories held our interest and the costume/makeup surely added to the scares. Both cemetery visits, Boston Commons and stories of serial killings and stranglers were on point. Good tour, don’t miss it!

Enjoyable

We only had a couple hours to visit and I am glad we chose this tour. The guides were very fun and entertaining and the stories they shared kept us interested. My only complaint is that they let us have a few minutes to ourselves in the graveyard so we could look at the headstones. They would point out a few and you’d hear a story and then we’d leave. It didn’t give you a chance to see the oldest one or read any of them. Also, it was not scary and is perfectly fine for any age.

We started the tour at the Aquarium. They never fell out of their role. The pace was perfect. Driving and walking. Lots of creepy/whimsical stories and a great vibe. We enjoyed it very much. At one moment the speakers went out, luckily we could still understand the tour guide.
