Make your own way to Cancun’s marina and greet your guide beside your boat. Climb on board and ride to the site of the ‘Silent Evolution,’ a submerged selection of statues positioned on the ocean floor. Watch a snorkeling demonstration from your guide then don your equipment and plunge into the Caribbean Ocean.

Snorkel and explore the 500 figures in the exhibition; see how British artist Jason DeCaires Taylor sculpted the figures from pH neutral clay and note the abundance of marine life thriving among the statues.

Dry off in the soothing Mexican sunshine on the ride back to the Cancun marina then bid your guide and group farewell on arrival.

Okay, needs to be better value for money

Master concept of the underwater museum is good, the execution is not a great experience for snorkellers. When do you think about the price you pay plus the extra docking fee on the day, I wouldn’t recommend this to other people. The snorkellers are the last in the water and the first out.

We scheduled this weeks in advance; and when we got there. Viator didn’t communicate the proper date of our arrival with aqua world. We took a bus to get to aqua world and we were not in there system for Saturday— instead our reservation was for Thursday 3 days before. I was on the phone with Viator for 45 minutes and no one was able to help me with what’s going on. It’s was a horrible experience. Everyone wanting to schedule something just wait until you get to Mexico to schedule anything; because this was absolutely useles. Also! You have to pay taxes when you get there to aqua world. If you schedule it when you get here the tax is automatically included.

The captain was so helpful when my girls got sea sick, the tour guide was friendly and welcoming. The sculptures were something worth seeing.

Worst Experience Ever
Geoff_F
, Apr. 2021
Worst trip we’ve ever been on. Signed up for a snorkeling trip and were placed on a huge, 2 level dive boat with 4 groups of divers. At every stop, we were the last in the water and the first out. Saw a tiny sliver of the museum, while the divers saw the whole thing. Complained to management, and were promised a certificate to a different excursion that never arrived. DO NOT TAKE THIS TRIP OR USE THIS COMPANY. There are tons of small snorkel boats and catamarans... go with them. We’ve literally been all over the world and taken many Viator excursions; I’ve never written a review remotely like this.

It was a decent experience, great crew and captain. I was under impression that we could get closer to statues but we had vests on which is understandable. Pretty exhausting experience, unable to get any pictures, I was under the impression they would have underwater cameras to take pictures for us that we could pay for, that wasn't the case. Decent experience.

The guides were very hospitable and obviously experienced with leading visitors out to the waters. I wish we could have seen more of the underwater museum, even though we spent an hour or more in different parts of it. It's a lot bigger than what we touched, and needs more time. My favourite part was when we went to the shallow water with different corals, and all these colour fish were there. The fish followed us: schools of beautiful yellow, blue ones, and I saw a lot of other rainbow fish and small guys in the corals. I thought the fish were very friendly and then i saw on Youtube they've been trained by tour groups to accept handouts so they think tourists are gonna feed them. It's not a very environmentally friendly practice, BUT, I enjoyed that they came to follow us. It was a Disney moment. Earlier I had been on a snorkel tour of the Belize reef from Caye Caulker and saw more fish here close up than on the larger reef.

This was a really excellent tour...

This was a really excellent tour. Our tour guide, driver, and assistant were very friendly and helpful. The guide got in the water with us and showed us where to find the statues. She also would take your camera and swim closer to the statues and take pictures for you if you couldn't. When about half the boat was feeling very seasick, she and the driver altered the tour and took us to a really beautiful beach with tide pools. This was such a great decision! We were able to continue exploring around and even snorkel a little in very shallow water without continuing to feel sick. I even saw an octopus! This did not feel like a sub-par backup. It was a really excellent choice for those who were sick. I really thank the guide and driver for this decision, and I didn't have to sit out half the activities for not feeling well. 100% would recommend this tour and Aquaworld to others traveling in Cancun.

It was a great trip! I wish we would of seen more statues. We seen more on the Jungle mini boat tour through Cancun Discounts and we got to driver our own boats on that tour. Other than that the staff were really friendly and made the trip enjoyable.

Wow! It was a fabulous snorkeling adventure and I will cherish the memories forever of our experience exploring and seeing the beautiful colorful tropical fish of all sizes and the underwater museum was amazing and could not believe my eyes at how incredible it looked. I loved the little house and the beetle bug and the many other pieces of art. Our guide was sweet and very attentive to our needs when called upon. The three member Aqua world crew was professional and great fun to be with on our journey to the Underwater Museum. What a fantastic time my family and I had enjoying that day of snorkeling and the speed boat was fun too! Thank you all for giving me and my family a safe and wonderful experience in Cancun, Mexico 2017.

Did this tour through Aqua World. We were out on a boat with a glass bottom, cool! That day the seas were rough but snorkeling was still great. 5 people on our boat had a little trouble with the waves but there were 2 guides and one driver that stays with the boat to pick you up that are in the water with you, very safe. The statues are a bit of a swim from one another, but with life jackets on it's very doable, even without experience. We then went to an area that was very easy to swim and saw lots of fish, that was almost better than the museum. Thought it was great, the guides are very polite and concerned for your welfare. Drinks and snacks on the boat.

Not for the novice snorkeller. Even with a life jacket, the sea swells can be high, so a certain level of fitness is also required. You get to visit two locations, the second being in a more sheltered area. There were children in our party, 8-10 years old, who managed, as some held onto the tour operator's life bouy and all were accompanied one parent/adult to one child. However, the staff were friendly, they provided free refreshments water and fruit on board the boat and of course you get to to see something very unique.

The water was quite rough when we went out, not the best at snorkelling so found it a little hard. But seeing the statues in the water and all the fish was amazing. The tour guides are really great and they make sure everyone is fine and they spend the time with the people who needed a little more help.

Fun - just the right amount of time too. You don't get as close to the sculptures as the photos lead you to believe though.
