Chichen Itza, Cenote & Valladolid Tour

Hola hola, Coca Cola! Wow, what a memorable tour! We did the Chichen Itza, Cenote & Valladolid Tour with Cesar (Tour Guide) and Manuel (Bus Driver) and it was nothing but good times. All the needed information was e-mailed to us, days prior to the tour which was great. The bus came right on time during the tour day and the bus was new, clean and most importantly had cold A/C. Once we got into the tour bus, we were greeted with some friendly and genuine smiles. Cesar and Manuel made us welcomed! The 2-3 hour ride wasn't bad because Cesar made the ride really entertaining with his great humor. During the whole tour Cesar was very funny and informative. He was very specific with the information he gave us and made us feel safe knowing the info. We were entertained the whole time and an added bonus was the free water and the free buffet at the cenote, which was surprisingly good. If you're looking for a tour company for Chichen Itza, look no further, THIS IS THE ONE! 5 STARS!

Our family had a great day at Chichen Itza and a Cenote. The trip from Cancun is long, but worth it. All the better was doing the private tour with Tino as our tour guide and Manuel as our driver.

Great day and visited must see places. We learned so much from our tour guide Victor Manuel and his driver. Cenote was beautiful, the temple amazing and the last stop in Valladolid a great way of ending the day!

This tour was amazing. Our guide Luis was phenomenal. He was very informative about the Mayan culture.

The explanations were light and easy to follow. Very candid people and the transitions from each location was smooth. One observation tho are the bus sits were too tight and uncomfortable on the neck for short people. Excellent tour leaders and driver.

Such a fun tour! Alan was such a great tour guide - entertaining and engaging the whole day. Each stop was beautiful and fun. Could not have had it any better!

When we booked this tour we knew it would be a long day. We wanted to travel comfortably and the bus on this tour was perfect. It was comfortable, air conditioned, and had a restroom. The guides were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. They only negative thing is they jumped between Spanish and English so quickly that sometimes it was a little challenging to follow what they were saying. The ruins of Chichenitza were amazing. Unfortunately the bus group was divided into smaller groups, (this was good), but the guide we were assigned to was new & nervous. He spoke way too quickly, walked through the ruins too quickly, and never asked anyone if we he could answer any questions for us. Just too hurried for us. The other issue we had, which was no fault of the guide or tour company, was the sheer number of street vendors lining the walkways within the ruins. It was very surprising that the conservation groups & Mexican government allows them to be inside the ruin areas. Their attempts of “hawking” their goods to tourists did not allow for a quiet moment to absorb and reflect on what we were seeing anywhere on the grounds. It was very disappointing. The traditional Yucatán lunch and Cenote swimming were all at the same location. The guides did a great job of describing the Cenote requirements before hand which made the whole preparation to swim process much easier. The Cenote was one of the r highlights of the day. Afterwards, our last stop was in a charming colonial style town, Vallidaloid. We all wished we could have had a little more time in this town to wander & explore. It had a beautiful church and a beautiful town square with a huge fountain in the middle. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic day!

Our guide Alan was great as was the other guide we got inside Chichen Itza, 1 hour of free time at Chichen Itza after the tour was just enough time, the buffet lunch was great, and swimming in the cenote was awesome. The only negative was driving all up and down Riveria Maya picking people up and dropping off - a lot of inefficiencies and wasted time.

Bus was comfortable, guide shared some interesting insights (but the tour is mostly catered to those who have no prior knowledge at all about the Maya civilization, so if you do don't expect to learn much), and lunch was very good. The stop at Valladolid was particularly nice, but the cenote visit was a let down. The cenote is very commercial (not the most natural setting at all) and there are way too many tourists there. Also very annoying how most of the tour people were picked up from one spot at the fifth avenue, which was the closest spot when the tour bus returned to the city after 12 hours of tour, and yet the driver and guides thought it would be a better idea to keep everyone for another 30 minutes to first drop a single couple staying in a hotel far from the city. This made no sense and added to a very tiring day.
