  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Is it safe?
  • Yes. You’ll be provided with safety instruction from our experienced guides who’ve spent hundreds of hours getting to know our resident school of sharks. Our guides will be in the water with you the entire time and will closely monitor the sharks behaviour to ensure your safety.
  • What type of sharks will I see?
  • There are two main species of sharks encountered, White Tip Reef Sharks and Black Tip Reef Sharks, both are common in the tropical warm waters of the South Pacific. Each species can grow to a length of just over 1.5 metres although under the water they appear 25% larger, a snorkeling face mask optical illusion. White Tips are the dominant species and are by nature an inquisitive shark not frightened to check you out. Their Black Tip relatives are by contrast timid and will shy away if they feel threatened.
  • How many sharks will I see?
  • Numbers vary but it is common to see up to six sharks.
  • How deep is the water?
  • Both Black Tip and White Tip Reef Sharks prefer shallower waters making snorkeling easy with good visibility. It’s even possible to see the sharks from our boat before entering the water. Water depth varies between 4 - 6 metres depending on the tide.
  • What if I’m not a good swimmer, haven’t snorkeled before or don’t want to snorkel but my travelling companion does?
  • Buoyancy aids are available for less confident swimmers and because these sharks prefer shallow waters there’s no necessity to dive under the water to secure a thrilling view. Non-snorkelers can join the day but sit out the snorkeling experience.
  • Our Shark Guarantee
  • As Sharks are wild animals we cannot guarantee sightings however we have a 95% +success rate of sighting sharks. In the event that you don’t see any sharks we are happy for you to return for a complimentary “Ultimate Encounter - Snorkel with Sharks” within 3 days of your original cruise.

So many fish
, Jul. 2022
The sharks come close to check you out. It is breathtaking. There are hundreds of reef fish all around as well as the beautiful reef. Be aware there are tricky transfers from boat to boat, as well as wading across the reef at low tide. Difficult for people with mobility issues. I managed on crutches with a lot of help from the amazing staff. The staff in the boats and at Kutua Island were excellent. They looked after everyone and nothing was too much trouble.

Amazing trip with such friendly sharks and the people were so friendly and amazing. I 100% recommend this trip and definitely to visit Kuata Island. The food was also delicious.
Snorkel is for reef sharks
, Mar. 2020
If we had more time we would have done the scuba dive rather than the snorkel. Although the snorkel was a great experience and we saw maybe 20 reef sharks about a metre or less in length, I was looking forward to seeing bigger sharks, but you see the big ones only in the scuba dive.

Great experience

It was a great experience snorkeling and diving with reef sharks. Not dangerous at all. Snorkeling probably was better than diving as sharks come up to the surface and you can almost touch them. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great day cruise.

Unique Experience
, Apr. 2019
Our skiff was greeted by a Fijian warrior standing on a rock in the sea. Snorkeling with the sharks was a dream activity and there were so many colorful coral and fish as well. Relaxing at the rustic resort, enjoying a buffet lunch, listening to live Fijian tunes, beachcombing, swinging in the hammock above the rocky shore and taking a dip in the pools rounded out the afternoon. It really was an uniquely Fijian experience.

This was a Bucket list item.Ive held a captive burse shark on isla munetes. But never seen sharks feed at 35 feet diwn without a cage! Breathtaking experience. Ridiculously readonable fir a 50 minute dive. Very Safe. Never felt that these animals would attack. 5 Experienced divers around around you. I cant believe this exists. Take a diving class begore you come if you cant five. My wife did the snorkling .. was great for her. You get a 65$ fjd credit towsrd the 299$ fjd sharke dive. Upgrade if you are a diver. Just do it

This was a welcome break from the bad weather on the main island. You travel from whichever island pickup you have arranged, and then go out to this resort don't recall name. It has a back packer feel with limited mod cons, but ideal for a lazy time. From there you go by boat to whichever dive site - we just did snorkelling, which is about 30 mins motor boar ride away. They provide all the gear and life jackets and buoyancy aids etc. The area they take you is on a reef and the water is crystal clear. Looking at some of the tour photos, its clear they have been photo shopped. I don't know why, as for us snorkelers we couldn't see enough. It was magical with sharks swimming really close to you and not bothered by you at all. The other dives were SCUBA with non and certified dives pending your experience. I could only over hear how chuffed these groups were. Food was basic, but plenty and the atmosphere chilled, also free time snorkelling off the beach... my wife did this and her photos were great. Highly recommend this trip.. DO NOT be put off by the fear of being bitten. There were divers in the water ensuring our safety...... not one problem whatsoever....

This tour was amazing - the island was beautiful and well-stocked for all sorts of activities such as paddle-boarding, snorkelling and kayaking. With welcome drinks and lunch included, we felt very cared for. My favourite part has to be the service though. We were treated to wonderful performances upon arrival and departure, and the workers at the equipment hire office were always willing to put up with our requests. The guides were very friendly and even got close to the sharks to take some footage for us when we couldn't dive quite so deep. They also made for some great conversationalists on the long ride back to Denarau!
