If you have own transport, please wait at tables next to the toilets of Charis Seafoods, Harley Park Boat Ramp. This is located across the road from The Grand Hotel, Marine Parade Labrador. The tour guide will arrive in a mini bus with Australian Kayaking Adventures on it.

Tour finishes at Parr Street and Marine Parade Biggera Waters

After early morning pickup from your hotel in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, head to the Broadwater Tourist Park to meet your guide.

Receive a safety briefing, paddling instruction and all necessary gear, then launch your kayak into the calm waters of the Broadwater channel. Paddle to two nearby islands, keeping an eye out for turtles, fish, dolphins and stingrays along the way. Pelicans and sea eagles soar through the air, and if you visit between May and November, you might get lucky and see migrating humpback whales.

Step out of your kayak on the beach and enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast. Have some time to snorkel at Wavebreak Island with the provided snorkel gear. At South Stradbroke Island, you can take a walk on the renowned surfing beach and look for wild golden wallabies — native to this island and not found anywhere else in Australia.

At the end of your half-day kayak tour, your guide leads you back to the mainland where your tour ends.

Be picked up from your Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach Resort, or meet at the Harley park boat Ramp, Marine Parade Labrador if you have your own transport. Then after safety instructions launch your kayak into the beautiful Broadwater, warm and calm all year-round. While paddling across to Wavebreak Island, look out for dolphins, turtles, colourful tropical fish and stingrays swimming nearby. Pelicans and sea eagles fly through the air, and if you’re kayaking between May and November you might even see migrating whales! The kayak tour takes you to two secluded islands, and includes a delicious light continental breakfast on the beach. Snorkel in the water off Wavebreak Island, and use the snorkel gear provided to swim with tropical fish. Stroll the fantastic surfing beach on South Stradbroke Island, and see if you can spot the island’s golden wallaby, found nowhere else in Australia. This tour is definitely a MUST DO activity when on the GC. Our guide Steve was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Everything was safe and comfortable and paddling was relaxed and enjoyable. We saw a dolphin, that was awesome. The tour guys were amazing and really helpful. They shared their knowledge of the area and really went out of their way to make sure you were having a good time. My partner got sick and they managed to do what they could on a remote island to get help for him to get back to shore. They were professionals and my group had a great time.

A great day out. Steve's knowledge of the environment, wildlife and marine life was vast. We were beginner kayakers but that didnt matter. The highlight of the morning was a close encounter with a dolphin and it's calf. It was amazing. I haven't stopped talking about it. Highly recommend this terrific experience when visiting the Gold Coast. Thanks Steve.

The tour guides were absolutely amazing but we just didn’t get what we thought we would. They were super nice about everything but when it came to the snorkelling, the water was so sandy and misty we literally couldn’t see anything, not even our own bodies. The water was not clear at all, i understand thats not the tour guides fault, but me and my family personally did not get the most out of it, we preferred going for a walk than the actual snorkelling. Kayaking was fun but tiring (thats obvious though). All round we didn’t see a single fish as the water was sandy, and the area we were in was also very shallow. Good for first timers but, like me, not so good for people with higher expectations for the price

Nice low key way to explore Wave Break and South Stradbroke islands and view the Gold Coast from the water. Guides were really nice and looked after everyone. Great for all ages. Start time indicated 7am on website but really not on the water until about 8am. Breakfast was very limited so wise to eat before or take something with you. Would suggest everyone takes water, sunscreen and mosquito repellent!

Had a really nice time on this tour, the guide was friendly and knew a lot about the area and when snorkeling and kayaking, provided us with very helpful tips. we were only able to head to wave break island due to high winds and rough currents, but was still a fun adventure. it was a bit disappointing that it states 'half day' when we were picked up around 7.15am and were back before 11, however the tour guide suggested we head back due to the strong currents. regardless, it was a great adventure and is great for couples.
