Really enjoyed going up Pacaya Volcano. Planned to hike but took the horse up which was so much more fun! Got to roast marshmallows and stand on top of the volcano! Great experience!

This is a 4 mile round trip, an easy hike. They push riding a horse, asking many many times after saying NO we want to hike. Btw, This does not go to the crater. All in all interesting!

Hello Mariam, we appreciate your review of the Pacaya Volcano tour. For everyone who likes outdoor activities, this one can´t be missed on your visit to Guatemala. It is a beautiful and easy-to-hike volcano. For security reasons, we don´t go to the crater as it is an active volcano and it can be dangerous, however, we go to one of the highest viewpoints at the summit to appreciate the view. When the volcano increases its volcanic activity and expulses big amounts of lava, we offer a tour to see the lava rivers up close, it is amazing and we would love to take you to see it. I also want to apologize to you for the behavior of the horse owners at the volcano. That is a separate service and is offered by them for all of those who need a horse for any reason. We are sorry that they insisted on you getting their service. We will address the situation and avoid this behavior for future visits. We hope to have the honor to take you to more beautiful places in Guatemala. Please take care and come back soon.

Great tour with very knowledgeable and friendly guides. Pacaya was cool to see and there are a number of stops to the top to buy snacks and drinks, including pizza cooked on the volcano rocks. Picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Guatemala City with no issues.

Beautiful Experience with small kids

This was an unforgettable experience, we went with our kids who are 3 and 5 with our tour guide David. He was very nice and knowledgeable. The driver picked us up at the hotel on time in Guatemala city and actually dropped us off in Antigua after the trip...he was phenomenal. We rented horses for $40 U.S.D. each for the children though I feel like it could've been less because initially the guide said $50 each. The horses were definitely needed as I got a little tired and ended up riding with my son. I was especially impressed with Delpho and his horse Champion, Delpho literally wiped my kids nose when it started running, super nice wonderful guy. The views were incredible and roasting marshmallows on lava and buying souvenirs near the top was worth EVERYTHING. It was a beautiful experience.

Absolutely loved our experience! The nature is just so beautiful. Smooth and fun activity for every age. You don’t have to be super fit to walk up, but I would recommend everyone to ride a horse. Also, even if it does not seem hot, wear a sunblock. The altitude is pretty decent, again make sure you eat a big breakfast and bring Gatorade. Even with all challenges it was one of the greatest memories from our trip. Absolutely recommend!

This tour was awesome!!! My guide, Pedro, was so nice and answered all my questions! Hiking up the volcano was truly an experience like no other! The views were breathtaking and the scenery was beautiful! I highly recommend this tour!!!

Booked the group tour and it ended up being just my friend and I, so we basically got a private tour. Our tour guide Manny was very friendly and personable. He had so much knowledge about Guatemala and volcanoes and it was very educational. He offered us different hiking routes based on how challenged we wanted to be. We opted for more challenge and in return got better views of Pacaya with less people on the trail. He was patient with us and went at the pace of the slowest person, frequently taking stops without rushing to finish. It was an overall great experience!
