Greet your guide at your Huatulco hotel and enjoy the scenic 1.5-hour minivan journey to the charming seaside village of La Ventanilla. Begin your environmental adventure at the estuary of the Tonameca River, climbing aboard your boat to commence the voyage.
Cruise through the mystical mangroves, awakening your senses to the distinct calls of kingfishers, herons and woodpeckers. Scan the verdant scenery for deer, turtles and iguanas, carefully discerning crocodiles lurking in their natural habitat.
Exit the atmospheric mangroves and return to your mini-van to continue the journey to Mazunte, a picturesque village on the Pacific Coast. Here, the National Mexican Turtle Center harbors seven of the nine turtle species that inhabit Oaxacan waters. Explore the exhibits, admiring the incredible creatures as you learn about scientific research, impending endangerment and conservation efforts.
Visit a local workshop and learn the processes behind natural cosmetics before continuing onto Zipolite, a vibrant and vivacious town that attracts surfers and hippies due to it stunning coastline and tranquil ambience.
Refuel by purchasing lunch in an authentic Mexican restaurant, savouring the rich flavours of refried beans, tangy salsa and chargrilled meat washed down with a shot of mescal (own expense). Itinerary
This tour starts in Ventanilla, a natural protected reservation where you’ll board a small boat to get a tour around the mangroves and see the different species of the region living in their natural habitat, such as woodpeckers, ducks, herons, crocodiles and iguanas.

Next, we’ll take you to Mazunte, considered a magical town, where you’ll visit a shop of natural cosmetics, where you’ll also get to see the process of elaboration of natural products like: soap, cream, and oth- ers. Next, you’ll visit the National Mexican Turtle Center, a place that’s in charge of studying 7 out of the 9 species of turtles that exist in the state’s coasts.

Later, we’ll head to Zipolite, an open sea beach where you’ll have time to take pictures and a pleasant walk. We’ll finish this tour in Puerto Ángel, to visit a restaurant in front of the sea, where you’ll get to enjoy delicious dishes made of local fresh seafood (on your own expense).
