Birding wonders.

So, this was a three-hour birding tour with a bit of walking and a boat ride through the mangroves. For those who love birding, which I do, I cannot say enough good things about this tour. Our guide, Randall, was wonderfully knowledgeable. We spotted tiny grey bats sleeping like lichen on a branch, a pygmy flycatcher, the turquoise-browed mot-mot, and 47 other species of birds. Randall went out of his way to make sure that we got terrific photographs as well.
I can promise that any birder who takes this tour will walk away delighted with the colors and sounds of Costa Rica and an appreciation of the efforts underway to preserve such beauty.

Randall Ortega was an interesting and knowledgeable guide. He provided high quality binoculars and excellent tips for finding and seeing the birds. We saw so many different species and because of his extensive experience he was able to answer all our questions. In addition he provided information about the local terrain and river. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this tour.
