  • Children under 4 years old can't ride
  • Minimum drinking age in Costa Rica is 18 years
  • Will be operated by a multi-lingual guide (Spanish and English)
  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
  • Trail conditions and rider ability may alter routes; therefore any features described herein may not be available for each tour. Please speak directly with your guide on the day of your tour for an up-to-date description of the expected route, as conditions can change on a daily basis.
  • Customer needs to present a Visa or Mastercard at the beginning of their ATV tour to ensure security on the machines
  • No flip flops, sandals, or open-toed shoes
  • Service animals allowed
  • Near public transportation
  • Not recommended for travellers with back problems
  • ATV drivers must be 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license
  • Unlicensed participants and children under 16 must ride as passengers
  • The number of ATV passengers in your group may not outnumber the ATV drivers
  • Most travellers can participate
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travellers

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

Experienced ATV RIDERS DON’T DO

If you’re an experienced ATV rider I would NOT recommend this tour. You’re stuck behind a guide going very slow. There is no mud or water. Don’t be deceived by the cover photo. You will not go through a jungle river like the photo. You go through some back roads and dirt roads but no mud, water, or jungle.

We certainly do go through rivers and mud, but that is dictated by trail conditions and the riding ability of the weakest person in the group. If you go out again, you might want to pay the extra money and do the private tour. That way, other riders would not slow you down. Our guide Alex met us. We watched a brief video and safety and we were on our way. The whole process took between 5-8 minutes. My husband and I have done ATV a total of 4 times and this was by far the best yet. Alex took us safely up and down the mountain where we saw some amazing views, we asked him quiet a few questions and he was able to answer all of them. He stopped to point out a toucan. We made 2 stops with great views and ended with our last stop at the beach. He made a video of us and took lots of photos. Our tour was amazing and the price reasonable. Please tip on your way out, we sure did

Beautiful ATV tour with Alex

Our tour guide, Alex, was an amazing instructor and patient person. We first were taught how to use an ATX from Alex and then navigated the busy streets of Jaco until we went out into the wilderness. Once out here, we did some crazy stuff, such as, going up and down mountains, driving through knee deep water, and seeing same special birds, which Alex spotted while we were driving! This trip culminated with a view from a mountain top far away from the city. Even though it was listed as 2 hours, it felt so much longer because we were having a blast. I highly recommend this tour and I highly recommend that you go with Alex!

Alex was a great tour guide. He stopped at all the great spots for photos and was very knowledgeable of the area. He even took us to the best restaurant and bar in the jungle!! Beautiful scenery and so much fun!!

This was one the most memorable experiences thus far. Our tour guides Alex and Andreas wrapped us in a blanket of safety, comfort, and a brief education of the region (highly knowledgeable). Scaling the mountain was exciting and adventurous in it of itself, let alone the breathtaking mountaintop 360 degree views. If you are in Costa Rica for a few days, do yourself a solid and carve out 2-3 hours for this tour. Your future self will thank you for it!

I came here with a friend and we had the best time riding the ATVs!! Jorge our guide was amazing! We watched a short safety video, had some practice and then we were off! Pictures don’t do the scenery justice but Jorge took us to the top of the mountain where we had a beautiful panoramic picture taken! I’ve never ridden an ATV before but I did not feel uncomfortable at all. Our guide was right there to answer any questions and to take pictures along the way. This is worth every penny!

Our 2 hour ATV ride was so fun. There were 5 of us in my family and 2 guides. It was very fast paced but safe at the same time. The scenery was beautiful and lush. It would have been nice to stop for a few minutes to take it all in. We did stop on the way back for a quick water break and the views were amazing. Not much wildlife spotted.
