If you’ve always wanted to try surfing but didn’t know where to start, dive into Hawaii’s favorite sport with this fun introductory lesson. Spend 2 hours along the shore of Hawaii’s famed Hanalei Bay learning fundamentals of surfing. 

With the expertise of your certified instructor, learn how to properly position yourself on a board, watch the waves and gain the confidence to stand up. Understand ocean patterns and safety practices to ensure a fun and safe foray in the endless summer of surfing. See the Itinerary below for a breakdown of the lesson.

The gentle waves of the bay on Kauai’s North Shore are ideal for beginners. In the rare event that conditions are not suitable, your guide will take you to another nearby spot on the island.
  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Participant must call and re-confirm booking 48 hours prior to activity
  • Participants are with their own people whether 1/2/3/4 or more so can be an age you feel appropriate.
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Near public transportation
  • Infants must sit on laps
  • Not recommended for travellers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travellers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Most travellers can participate

Amazing experience for a first timer to get the rules of the waves and basic skills. They made this process so enjoyable from check in to surf time. Renting a board from them as well for follow up day to keep practicing!

Great time. Good instructors but super expensive. Not worth price. We paid $530 for 1 adult and 2 kids. Lesson started 40 min late but ended right before scheduled time. We were in water a little over 30 min when we paid for a 1.5 hr lesson. We lost half of the class and it was not made up. We checked in on time and got to beach on time as well. We didn't get to keep boards after lesson either so our surfing experience was very short. Kids we surfing though so that was great to see.

Workers are not in peril but it is something we do want to address and not have this happen again. Fortunately unusual but we do want to be able to work on this. **TO UPDATE** We did explore and recover the overpayment from the company that booked these 3 PRIVATE lessons.

I had a private surf lesson with Mitchell. This was my first time ever even touching a surf board. He was an amazing instructor and he had me up on the board within a few attempts. He is very personable and I enjoyed chatting with him while we waited for the right waves - which he is an expert at spotting. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who has thought about trying surfing.

Had first surfing lesson and staff was patient, and knowledgeable. I managed to stand up 4 times to surf which was way beyond my expectation. I highly recommend these guys for beginners. check in was easy and they supplied everything including rash guard and you get a discount if you want to rent a board.

I had a private lesson and the instructor was more worried about getting back to the beach so we didnt miss the shuttle (It would have been an 8 minute walk to the shop) than catching waves. The waves were not great and he was knowledgeable.
