Looking over island topography from the altitude you can see both bays from high up. Coming thru the clouds into sunlight was awesome!

Starting at 9am was the way to go. Still a great ride down the volcano, without the early morning cold and hassle. Remmy is a knowledgeable coach and has a great personality. The bikes and brakes worked great. If you think you can’t do it, you are wrong. You will love it!
Get your adventure on!

This I a must do trip. So relaxing. Stopping and talking to several locals who lived there were our highlights. They insisted we take fruits and flower in which they had grown themselves.the ride was a thrill and not dangerous. Great views to stop and admire along the way. I highly recommend this adventure!

Great Fun, Not Scary At All!

After our safety talk we were a bit nervous about booking this tour. However, after completing it we realized how easy it was to complete. Don't get us wrong, pay attention to the rules, but then simply use common sense as you for down the hill. Loved the smells on our way down, the flowers lined the road for miles. The views from the to were amazing. Our tour guide, Remy was fun to listen to and provided good information. Lastly, we ate lunch at the Paia Fish Market..... It was amazing!!
Very nice morning activity with teenagers.

Beautiful ride down the volcano. Easy to do (our teens are pretty active and fit) since it's all downhill. It took us about 3 hours with an easy pace and stops along the way. Ate when we got to the bottom in Paia. The helmets were nice and safe. Of note, the bikes only have 1 gear so you really cannot pedal anywhere else (except to glide down the mountain). The only reason we give this tour 4* is because we didn't go all the way up to the top of the volcano. So really you get dropped off at the side of the road about 2/3 way up and then start from there. I wish I knew that before. Also, tip: take non-drowsy dramamine before you head up in the van because it's windy...
It’s a beautiful downhiller!

The two best things about this experience were the beautiful scenery all along the way and the staff…big shout out to Dane! They were super friendly and helpful, safety conscious and encouraging us to just take our time and enjoy the ride!! My wife is not an experienced rider; and it was a fun, safe and enjoyable trip for her.

Speeds up to 38 MPH. Good safety gear and equipment. Unbelievable views. Very friendly staff, informative local history. SAD to hear about the agriculture changes...no more pineapples. Good tips on what to see where to eat etc.
Best way to experience Haleakala

This trip is a diamond in the rough and should be recommended or highlighted more! Maui Sunriders is a fantastic company and Johnny, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, energetic and accommodating. The switchback portion from 6500 feet was incredible along with the echo stop! Thank you for the epic ride! A Hui Hou, Corinne & Ryan

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
