Abe was a good tour guide. This is an early morning. The bus ride from Kaanapali is a long one and it would be nice to have more room on the bus. The seats recline and if you are tall, it’s very cramped when seats in front if you are reclined. The breakfast at the end is nice, but people are tired and want to go home. The tour provides ponchos, but mine didn’t zip, so it was a challenge to keep on with the wind. Dress warmly. I brought gloves and head cover, so that helped. The experience is amazing. I’m glad we went.

We were picked up at 2 am, from our Kapalua Bay Villa. Yes, it is early. But it is worth it! We did it one day after our arrival in Maui, so it was easier to stay awake. Cole was our tour guide/ driver. A wonderful treasure trove of information and knowledge. We were prepared in our North Face and all but he still provided us with thermal parkas. We reached the summit on time. Saw some rare silverswords. Then we all waited in silence to watch the sun rise and peak out of the clouds. It was a majestic sight to behold. You feel so close to the heavens, it is ethereal. We were especially fortunate, to also have the full moon in the background. A once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure.

What an experience!! Early morning pick up from the hotel, great guide, Cole, Fanta view of the sunrise, excellent breakfast. All we had to do is sit back and enjoy! Highly recommend this trip on the first morning if you arrive from East coast of US as the time zone helps with the circadian cycle. Hope you get Cole as your guide as he is very 😎 and knowledgeable

Alika was a very entertaining tour guide. Pick up and drop off was timely. It was a spectacular experience not to be missed. Dress warm - although he did provide insulated ponchos for anyone who wanted an extra layer! Some fun stops on the way back down, and breakfast was delicious. A great spot to stop. All around great experience.

Billy was a great guide. Got us up the mountain safely and gave us adequate time at the top. He was very knowledgeable and highly recommend this tour! If you're prone to motion sickness take meds when the drive starts, the roads are winding. I gave it 4 stars because the breakfast was bad.

- Watching the sunrise and the very cold temperature. Dress as though you are dressing for winter weather. Company's instructions to simply wear layers is misleading. You actually need a winter coat, gloves and hat to truly be comfortable while waiting an hour or more for sunrise in 45 degree temps with significant wind factor.

Yes getting up so early while you are (probably) on vacation sounds miserable. But I promise you, its worth it. The views at first light are some of the most spectacular sights Ive ever seen. Valley Isle does a fantastic job as a tour guide, we had Abe, and loved every minute. *Remember to dress warm*

Bus confirmation was at 2 am but was not picked up until 2:30am! The driver was very friendly but did not speak clearly or use the microphone on bus! a pamphlet was handed out but no other information shared! Snack to hold over until breakfast should be included! Breakfast was cold! When we disembarked bus at volcano no instructions were given! We all just followed the crowd didn’t realize we could walk up to 2nd lookout had to ask if we had time etc… just very disappointed when spending 250.00 a person! Might be better off just taking an Uber or private car!

One of the highlights of our trip was the Haleakala Sunrise Adventure. Though the We haven’t experience the full Sunrise experience because of the weather, we still had fun and experience what it’s like to be 10,000 feet above sea level. Cole ( our driver) was so nice and kept us entertained the whole trip, love the breakfast too……Thank you.

Such an experience! Early wake up time at 2am and everything that came after so worth it. Drove up the mountains and the guides made sure we got there early to get a great view. Make sure to dress warm and wear lots of layers. Many many layers. After the sunrise, drove back down to have breakfast.

This tour was one of the highlights of our Maui vacation! We chose to do it the first morning we were in Maui, since our bodies hadn't adjusted to Maui time yet. It was wonderful. Hector and Doug were amazing hosts. They kept us laughing the whole time, and made sure we got the BEST spot on the mountain to view the sunrise. We had the front row! Awesome continental breakfast early on in the tour and full buffet at the end at Poi by the Pound. After the sunrise they took us on a tour on the way down the mountain. Beautiful views and just an all-around enjoyable tour. There were some twists and turns on the road, so if you have a tendency to get motion sickness, make sure to take some Dramamine the night before. We also loved that they picked us up and dropped us off right at our resort. Can't say enough great things about this! Do yourself a favor and book it now!
