This activity will end right where it started.
Your Maui horseback tour begins at the Mendes Ranch Corral, where you meet the paniolos and your horse before embarking on your ride. Choose from a morning or afternoon departure.

Canter across rolling green pastures and down towards Waihee Valley, where you ride along the wave-battered coast with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop and see panoramic vistas of the valley. Snap photos of the central valley and get photos of you up in the saddle. Then, gradually ascend your way up the mountain, passing taro patches and plantation homes, on the return trip back to Mendes Ranch corral.
  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 2 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability
  • There is a maximum weight limit of 250 pounds per person on this horseback riding tour. **Due to the safety of our horses and riders you WILL be weighed at check in**
  • Minimum age is 7 years
  • Please include your weight and riding ability (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) in the Special Requirements box at checkout
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Stroller accessible
  • Service animals allowed
  • Not recommended for travellers with back problems
  • Not recommended for pregnant travellers
  • No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • We reserve the right to deny any rider over the weight limit of 250 ibs at check in. If found max weight limit has been exceeded the day of tour it'll be NON-REFUNDABLE

Everyone on this ranch is so kind. You got a little history about the property with was great and really got to see some great view points with the horses. They take photos for you and make sure your comfortable with the horse you have. Anytime I’m in Maui I’ll be coming back to do this

The people, especially Don were great. The terrain was really not great for the horses. One of the horses fell forward on it's knees and got some abrasions. A suggestion maybe to improve on the paths to create more of smoother road for the horse's and their footing. I know the dirt is the red clay and when wet gets very slick. There were great animals on the farm, duck, pigs and peacocks big cactus and great flowers. The view's were spectacular, high cliff scenes to take pictures at. Bring some granola bars the horses love them!! All in all Don made sure we were informed, no one got lost and we all made it back safely!!

Guides were patient, knowledgeable, and obviously cared for the horses. The ride was a great balance between riding and stopping for photos/rest for horses/opportunity for pictures. The tour guides were both knowledgeable and helpful with guidance for controlling your horse and what to expect along the way. Beautiful scenery. Would have loved to have ran my horse longer. She gave it a go but tired out about halfway. It was a hot day. Wonderful experience for beginner and intermediate riders.
