Travelled with a toddler , picked the 11.00 am slot for a 2 hr cruise. Though we started at 11 sharp it was around 1.20 by the time we were done and honestly it was a bit much… toddler, partner, parents were all kinda done with the novelty of it all and it kinda made us all restless to get off more than anything else. And overwrote the otherwise pleasant experience. There was only so much commentary as only so much to talk about. If we were to do it again would restrict it to 1 hour cruise and only the dockland side.

Weather was beautiful, commentary was excellent - just right up and down river. Captain sounded knowledgeable and professional. However, booking stipulates "coffe and tea available" included in the price - this was neither seen, mentioned nor available 😔 should not be advertised if it's not part of the deal.

Being on the Yarra and seeing the land area from that perspective. Also, the commentary was very informative and engaging and, even though I lived in Melbourne for 30 years, I learned a lot from it. (My only criticism is that it would have been good to have more about the Aborigines of the Yarra at the time of European settlement).

I love the different perspective you get from the river. The factual comments the captain gave were very interesting, but there was too much “waffle” about himself. A personal note is great, but his jokes were nearly “cringy “. A lot of areas/buildings, etc were not commentated on at all because he was still talking about something from five minutes before. Would be excellent if it was a bit more professional.
