Simply excellent

Of the many things we did in Melbourne, for me, this ranks as the best. Akemi was an excellent tour guide, extremely knowledgeable about the different forms of street art, open and honest. This was both an educational and a inspirational experience, topped off with a visit to Blender Studios to see some of the artists at work. Sure, you can visit Hosier Lane and AC/DC Lane on your own, but if you really want to get into and understand this ever-changing cityscape, book one of these tours!

Couldn't recommend more highly. 11/10!

Having a real artist running the tour was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and also knew the other artists, their work and what was happening around the city. I felt like we got taken to places that were off the beaten track and that other tours wouldn't even know about. The chance to see the workshop at the end and share a drink was the icing on the cake.

Good in parts
Kay_W
, Aug. 2019
I have been on a number of street art tours and thought this one was expensive for what was delivered (most are in $25-30 range and this was $69 so I was expecting more). I was attracted by this being run by an artist and I had heard good things. The tour was arranged from a gallery that promotes and supports some of the artists that do street art and the extra money was to pay for some wine and cheese back at the gallery afterwards. The art was interesting in a gallery setting but not worth the money if you peel off and don't go back there, and then debatable.

Hi Kay, thanks for your review and for sharing your experience of the tour. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. Our tour price has not changed for 8 years, and for a comparable product in Melbourne, we are charging much less. We also choose to pay our guides (who are all artists), which is often not the case for artists. The tours are run through Blender Studios which are generally not open to the public, and this is often a highlight of the tour for guests (as can be seen in other reviews) as it is an opportunity to see where some of the street art on the tour is being created, and to also meet some of the artists. It is disappointing to hear that this was not the case for you, but thanks again for coming along on the tour.

Great Tour!

As James our guide is a street artist himself, we got a great insight into the wonderful street art of Melbourne, during which he covered the artists and their techniques and other aspects associated with this discipline. James conveyed the information in an enthusiastic way, happily answering questions as we walked the alleys. The tour finished at The Blender Studio, where we got to meet a number of artists who showed us and talked about their work. If you enjoy street art, this is the tour for you!

Thanks so much for the review! As our guides are street artists we often find that this is fundamental to the amount of insight they can offer on the tour, it truly is great to hear that this is the case! Thanks so much for coming along!
