Not a botany enthusiast

I rated this tour a 3, just a pass, not impressive. I guess it depends what one is coming to see or hear in this tour. I wanted to learn a little bit about the ruins, not about the plants, shrubs or trees around the place which is what the tour guide Moises did for a good 40 minutes of the tour. If u r a botanist i guess that is fine, i am not. I felt a good amount of my time was wasted on his talk about the plants. So i guess it will depend which guide one gets as the other reviews where i based my selection from were happy w their guides.

reliable company, informative tour, much climbing including steep steps without rails

Moses our guide is very knowledgeable and informative. I learned a lot. Was really surprised when we were left to make our way back to the entrance and the only way to get there was to descend a steep, roughly hewn set of old steps with no rail. I had to sit down and go down on my bum, one step at a time. The guide should have accompanied me or arranged for someone to walk me back to the start using a different, gentler route. The rest of the experience was excellent. Good drivers.

The views and history were amazing to see! We went with a small group and the tour was presented well in both Spanish and English. There was a spot to use the restroom and get water before the full walk too.

The tour picked us up on time and got us into the site early. The guide did a nice job of explaining the cultural and historical significance of everything we saw. I wish the group had been slightly smaller and moved a faster pace to cover more of the site, but overall it was an amazing experience.

Impressive site, excellent tour programme with compelling guide

An amazing tour, brought to life by our tour guide Antonio - whose ability to relate the changes experienced in Monte Alban to life and modern Mexico were a standout feature. Monte Alban itself is really interesting and has seen so much history, with impressive temples positioned on a mountain overlooking Oaxaca and surrounding valleys.

Antonio the guide was knowledgeable and interesting. His English was very good. His background as an anthropologist and a curandero added a lot to the great experience.
