Learn about the traditional art of cheesemaking and the importance of the maturing process as you admire the cellar’s supply. Taste several different varieties cut fresh from the block, such as Swiss Gruyère, bôfavre (a hard cheese from Switzerland's Jura Mountains), delicate Camembert, Etivaz (a hard cheese originating in the Alps), and Beaufort (a raw cow’s milk cheese).

Alternate bites of fragrant fromage with sips of fantastic French wines paired for complementary flavors. Also, nibble on fresh baguettes and fruit to complete your gourmet tasting experience. Listening to our host share things about the cheese and wine and then tasting it. Seeing the cheeses ripening in the cave was so interesting.

We all really enjoyed our time at this wine and cheese tasting! We were not having the greatest day and this tour definitely turned that around. Agathe was a great teacher and I feel that we learned a lot in a great environment. Would definitely recommend to others

It was a great experience! The wine and cheese pairings were wonderful. We loved learning about the different regions of where the cheeses came from. Definitely worth it!

For the adventurous cheese lover

The host was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about cheese. Her wine selections were fantastic and you could taste and understand why they were paired together. However, i would say you need to be an adventurous cheese aficionado for this class. It was a lot of stinky and strong cheeses that I just couldn’t enjoy. No fault of the class-it just maybe wasn’t the best matched for my taste.

Hello @ndeitman, thank you very much for taking the time for this review :) we have around 150 different farm - raw milk produced cheeses, so there is taste for everyone but they are sometime a little stinky.

We choose this place just because I love cheese, but we met Agatha... She was not only a great host, she was amazing. We don't speak French, just a little bit of English and Spanish, so she decide to adjust to us give us the whole tour in Spanish, she was charismatic, funny and with tons of knowledge about cheese and wines. Make for me an my friends a memorable experience... By the way the prices on the store really good! Thanks Agatha

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting and had an obvious love of cheese from the way he talked about it. The cheeses were both interesting and tasty. He encouraged a full sensory experience.

The cheese and wine experience was exceptional! Agathe was extremely knowledgeable and witty, the pairings were deliciously extraordinary, and it was a very educational and enlightening experience about both the cheese process in general but especially French cheeses.

Too little

small samples of cheese with barely 2 glasses of wine. There were only 3 different wines not 4 as advertised.

Excellent wine and cheese tasting in Paris

There was just a small group the day of my tasting (3 of us with leader) and it was great. Very social and nice chatting with Agathe who was very knowledgeable on the cheeses and the wines (and one beer!) with a bit of storytelling and of course teaching us on how to best appreciate the experience. Very nice little shop. Agathe was very friendly as well. I would do this again as the options and combinations are endless.

Fun and delicious experience

I am a cheese novice and want to be able to enter a cheese shop and choose things I would enjoy. I learned about the families of cheese and what gives each its distinct flavor as well as how to pair them with a wine that enhances the tasting experience. Our guide and the participants were a delight. The workshop is my favorite Paris experience so far.

Absolutely WONDERFUL experience!! Our host was very knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and I have have very different cheese tastes & this pairing was really enjoyable for both of us! For cheese beginners-it’s pushes you just enough outside your comfort zone, which was perfect for me! And you can’t beat the ambiance of the whole thing! From the cheese cave to the cheese cellar, all trés bien!! Highly recommend!!

Excellent informative tour with friendly guide

Really enjoyed this experience, we tasted 8 cheeses in total and 3 wines and they were all so tasty. We had a tour of the shop and refrigerated cheese room and the guide was extremely knowledgeable, and we learnt new techniques on how to experience the tastes better! It was overall very fun, and worth every penny. Would 100% recommend.

Delicious & informative, even (especially?) for the uninformed

We had little to no knowledge about the details of cheese-making and the different flavors that could be brought out in different cheeses. Damien did a wonderful job guiding us through the process of maturing cheese and what notes to look for. The tasting itself was great - a tour of sheep's, goat's, and cow's milk cheese, dry and wet, with several delicious French wines. There was only two of us with Damien so it was perhaps a bit more intimate than it would normally be, but I can imagine it's just as good with a larger group. Paroles de Fromagers is interesting to stop by even if you don't do the tasting - more than a few people would stop by the window to ogle the cheeses while we were there! Highly recommended!

Make a point to do this tour!

If you love cheese and wine, then make a point to do this tour. Our tour guide was great! He taught us so much about French cheese and the proper tasting technique. He has changed the way we eat cheese going forward. The cheese cellar is really just a large refrigerator upstairs filled with aging cheese, so don't have hopes that you will be going underground to a cool historic cellar (which is what I pictured when booking). That said, still 5 stars for the delicious cheese, wine, and knowledge that came from this tour.

The wine and cheese tasting event was a lot of fun. Our guide was very well informed and made the subject interesting. The only problem of the event was half the people that signed up did not show up on time. Be courteous to others, people, and get there on time!
