Paris Bakery Behind the Scenes Tour

I had a great experience during this tour experience. The guide was knowledgable and staff were welcoming and supportive. I learned that making delicious bread and pastries requires a lot of effort and teamwork. The tour guide, Meile (sp?) was delightful and engaging.

This was not so much for the home-baker, but it was an excellent introduction to how a large French bakery does its job. And you leave with a huge amount of bread on which you "worked." We had two lunches and a dinner (with some grocery store ingredients added) afterward, and still have most of the bread left over! It was good bread, too.

This was an awesome experience! Not only did we make baguettes, but also other types of bread. We also made small cakes and attempted at rolling some croissants. So much fun! We got to take everything we made with us too and had a delicious lunch with the baguettes and cheese from the shop next door.

This was incredible. My 8 year old son loved it. The guide was a darling young French girl with perfect English - we went into the back of a full but small working bakery - we made our own bagette - we piped little almond cookies and rolled croissant - was fantastic. And of course a lot of tasting and eating fresh right out of their oven.

The behind the scenes baking tour was so fun for my 10 year old. She enjoyed being in the preparation area of a real Paris bakery and learning how to make the different breads. This tour gave her a wonderful experience and great memories. All the bakers were so nice and helpful. At the end, we were able to take our bread with us.

It was ok felt a bit rushed and we never got our chocolate croissants they weren’t ready!’ Didn’t find out til out the door no recourse very disappointing

We arrived early as the tour instructions indicated "BE ON TIME" but the guide was not there and the boulangerie staff were not friendly. The tour person arrived and he was upbeat. There were two disappointments-- (1) there is no way to be sure that you get the pain (breads) that you made -- I think this is a major gaffe whether it means putting initials on the dough or something and (2) at the end the guide said he had a big surprise for the us, especially the ladies and it was him pointing out where to buy cheese and where to buy unsalted butter. Good tips but do not qualify as a "Wow" surprises. Ultimately poiinting out the shops was really to get us in front of Chez Manon for a photo op -- marketing. Still, if you're looking for an activity that is less touristy and gives you a look behind the scenes into the training and effort to prepare the delicious baked goods that Paris is known for and you have children/teens, then it could be a nice option.

This tour was super fun and one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. We went with our kids that are 9 and 10 years old and they loved the experience. Joao, our tour guide, was very kind and knowledgable in the industry and he shared a lot of good information with us. He was also very helpful with our kids in making sure they were engaged and learning during the experience. We made financiers, also rolled dough for baguettes and croissants and pan de chocolate. We ended up bringing so much fun to our hotel. It was a great tour that I would definitely recommend.

At Manon Bakery, in a trendy area of Paris, I was met by a very friendly knowledgeable guide who explained how the bakery functions.We then entered the bakery and I learned how they hand make all their baguettes, croissants etc. I personally made several breads, rolled croissants and tiny pastries. This is an excellent tour and should not be missed by anyone visiting Paris. The smell inside the bakery will remain with you for days.

This is well worth getting up early while on vacation. Tuck, our guide and a great person cheered us all on and made it fun for all of us, ages 77 to approximately 6. We made baguette, rolled croissants, and made some small almond cookies. We had the baguette for dinner along with some wonderful cheese we purchased at a Fromagerie and some red wine we had, a few fresh strawberries and raspberries topped off our dinner. We had a GREAT morning and met a nice couple with three very lovely and very polite daughters. Would do this again!!!
