A must do!

A must do while in Paris! Our guide was awesome and the cemetery is one of the most interesting architecturally and historically that we’ve ever seen. We did this one in the morning and a tour of the catacombs in the afternoon - both really complimented each other!

Horrible servive

Horrible service! I would have loved this tour if it would have happened. I arrived at 10am for the tour, no guide in site. No number was provided to call the guide. Viator won't provide a refund or voucher. We ended up touring the cemetery, after waiting 15 min for guide, and didn't see any groups speaking English inside.

We are very sorry about your experience. Like many companies in the travel industry, City Wonders faced an unprecedented post-pandemic surge in demand during the past few weeks. This combined with Covid-related impacts caused operational issues, which we are working around the clock to resolve as quickly as possible. What you experienced is not the typical excellent service that City Wonders is known for, and we truly apologize. Please contact us directly if you have any extra queries with your full name & Viator booking reference at customer.service@citywonders.com.

So Much History, So Many Beautiful Stories, with a Guide Who Loves the Place!

This is a must see for Paris. I feel bad for so many tourists who miss the cemetery entirely on their visits or try to do it without a guide. Our guide, I think here name was Michelle, but I forgot, was incredible. It was obvious that history and Pere LeChaise are her passions. She made the visit special.

Lovely introduction to the cemetery

This tour lasts about 2 hours and is a nice introduction to the cemetery. You see around 8 of the most famous residents and get some background about their lives. The pace is gentle although there cobbles and steeper hills, so good footwear is recommended. Hamish was our guide and he was very knowledgable and engaging. If you want to do this tour, I would recommend that you download the map to familiarise yourself with the locations of the entrances and exits (there is a toilet at the exit we were dropped off at), take a picnic (although there are many cafes nearby) and then continue exploring after the tour ends.

Hurried experience

Our guide arrived about 5 minutes late. I understand. She rushed through the cemetery which we found to be a fascinating place. The tour finished at 11:20 which was 40 minutes early. We did not get to see several famous graves including Chopin. We enjoyed what we saw but were disappointed in the shortened tour. The tour guide seemed to be in a huge hurry to be somewhere else.

Hamish was our guide and he was fantastic! Afterwards I wandered around to see a couple of other sites on my own and it was difficult to find things! Yay to Hamish for making it a fun and educational experience.
