Stop At:
Chateau de Chambord
From Paris, you’ll head first to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Blois
Having worked up an appetite, we'll get back on the bus and on to our next stop - the quaint town of Blois, where you’ll get some free time to enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII or grab a bite and visit the Royal castle of Blois on your own, notable for its unique mix of Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Classical architecture. This Royal castle once was the home of kings Louis XII and François I and presents a tragic history, as the place where Joan of Arc went to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.
Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Stop At:
Chateau de Chenonceau
Last but not least is a visit to the elegant Château de Chenonceau for wine tasting. The chapel, bedrooms and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings. Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici – two of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname ‘the Ladies’ Château’. After a guided tour, you’ll have a choice: continue exploring, or indulge in a second wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar. Three uniquely beautiful castles, good food and wine, all amid the scenery of the Loire Valley: this tour is a feast for the senses.

Disappointed.
JOHN_K
, May 2022
Let me start by saying that I mis-read the description of the event. I thought it was a tour of the Loire wine region. It was a tour of castles. My mistake. That being said I was disappointed in the conduct of the tour. The bus was uncomfortably warm. And the PA system “crackled”. It was difficult for me to understand much of what was being said at all. Also, the tag team presentation fell flat on its face for me. The verbal presentation (what I could hear) seemed designed more for a high school group than for adults. If you are interested in castles, go ahead and take this one.

Chenenceau is breathtaking. Chambord has major rehab so lots of scaffolding but very elegant. Staircase is unforgettable. Lots of walking. Parking lot to chateaus are quite a distance. Then touring inside and walking outside adds lots more. It can get hot later in the day, so wear layers. Bus was very comfortable but hardly any leg room. Make sure your cameras and mobiles are fully charged. Bus has no connections. I used my spare battery pack at the end of the day. Sensa and John were are hosts. Their knowledge of history as it relates to the château and France and from before it was France..get the idea. There isn’t a Charles or Henry or Louis they haven’t met👍🏼.

John, our guide, was very personable. He knew his history. We had sufficient time at each venue. The wine tasting was a nice ending to a fabulous tour.

Great full day tour of some amazing castles & beautiful countryside. Travel takes about 3 hours (with stops) from Paris. You have limited time at the three castles and all are self-guided tours. The wine tasting was a nice way to end the day.

Good for castles, bad for wine

I really enjoyed our tour guide! He was extremely funny and nice. However I thought the town of Blois was kind of whatever, and the wine portion of the tour was greatly exaggerated. It was only 3 very small tastings of 1 white, 1 rose, and 1 red, and the tastings were aimed at a very beginner audience. I thought it would be a bit more in depth on the Loire region of wine.

The Château are incredible and the landscape is breathtaking, what made this day even more entertaining was our tour guide. He kept the ride extremely engaging through sharing the backstory to the region and the places we were to visit. He was very polite, professional, and a pleasure to be around. He was very helpful and even helped my wife and I find allergy medication. Truly went out of his way to make this a memorable experience. All this was capped off by some delicious wine at the Château Chenonceau and a stroll through its beautiful gardens. We very much enjoyed this experience and would absolutely do it again.

This day went exactly as explained. The bus and driver and guide were all on time, professional and kind. It is a long ride to the valley but seeing the 2 castles and the beautiful countryside was worth it. A nice touch to enjoy the wine tasting as well. Our guide Sensi was excellent. Funny and very informative. Our driver Philippe was excellent as well. Bus was spotless and smelled great too.

We absolutely loved this tour. Our tour guide, Addie, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and had a passion for the history. She even made it more special for my son's 30th Birthday by singing to him. The castles were stunning and all though we were slightly rushed, it was an amazing experience!

We met at the Catacombs stop on the Metro and took a bus out to the Loire Valley. We saw the Chambord in the morning. In the middle, we visited the town of Blois and were able to walk around and have a picnic in the beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, we went to Chenonceau. All in all, it was a wonderful trip. My only complaint is that we didn't have enough time. All the places were wonderful and we could have spent so much more time exploring each if the time had allowed.

The guide was knowledgeable and helpful, the bus was comfortable and the sights were amazing. We were very rushed at each castle and didn't have much time to tour the grounds at all, but I would still say the day was worth it and we did enjoy ourselves.
