This historic tour begins at the Philly Tour Hub, a self-proclaimed launching pad for all the great Philadelphia travel experiences. Just outside, visit the Betsy Ross House, where the first American flag was sewn.

Walk through the Old City district of Philadelphia, where William Penn and the Quakers first settled. It’s also home to Elfreth’s Alley, America's oldest continuously inhabited residential street. Experience its art and design, with more than 55 galleries and home décor showrooms; plus over 80 restaurants and shops.

Visit Christ Church, where the Founding Fathers worshiped, then stop at a local café and purchase a quick bite or beverage.

Walk through the Historic District and Franklin Court (where Ben Franklin used to live) and then to Independence Mall, a three-block section of the Independence National Historical Park, as well as the National Constitution Center and the U.S. Mint.

Visit the home of George Washington and John Adams back when Philadelphia served as the nation's capital. See the Curtis Center, one of Philadelphia's historical spaces for its famous Tiffany mosaic.

Learn more about William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, at Washington Square. Visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument dedicated to American service members who have died without their remains being identified. Walk and learn—through Independence National Park and see Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Please note this tour does not enter Independence Hall.

Finally, back in Old City, unwind with the group over a cold beer or beverage at one of the district’s best local establishments—a perfect ending to a perfect tour or upgrade your tour and join us for a historical beer tour to learn about how beer and various pubs played a role in shaping our nation's history.

A lot of interesting stops

Our favorite stop was Elfreth’s Alley as it was like being transported back 200+ years. Our guide was knowledgeable but walked a little too fast. Group was often about 15’ behind.

We enjoyed the stories of Benjamin Franklin and seeing the printing shop and how things were done in that time period.

Tom was an enthusiastic well informed guide who has done extensive research. An engaging presenter, he educated us on the true stories behind the many falsehoods taught in the schools in the 1950’s forward for many decades. We need to appreciate the “good” and “bad.” Highly recommend.

I was in Philadelphia with my parents celebrating their 60th birthdays and we received a private tour from Rick. He was an excellent guide - thorough, patient, creative, interesting and he answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Philadelphia and looking to learn a little more background about this great city!

It wasn't what I expected so there was nothing memorable. I heard very little about our founding fathers.

Our guide, Marty, was friendly and punctual. He brought history alive. You could tell that he enjoyed teaching people a bout Philadelphia. We were engaged from the beginning to the end. We learned so much about the history of the area. We visited all the important historic sites. We finished the tour a the beer garden. Marty offered his number in case we had more questions. Marty made the tour very enjoyable! If you are looking to learn something new in a relax manner, I recommend taking this tour.

Our tour Guide Rick was wonderful, he filled the time with insightful information. The pace was customized to our group and the stops were all worth the time. After the tour, Rick bought us a drink and stayed with us to answer any questions we could think of. At campos where we had the drink, we had a Philly Cheese steak that my teenager proclaimed the best of his whole life.

Laura was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Philadelphia. We really appreciated the stop at the Curtis bldg for the gorgeous mural. The tour was not as advertised (no stop at pub for much needed refreshment) and so two-hours was a little long for us.

We took a weekend trip to Philadelphia and this walking tour hit all the major spots! Our tour guide, Dick, was very knowledgeable about the area and made the journey fun and engaging. This tour was about two hours and you get to see most of the historical sites in Philadelphia. Some spots are hidden gems that you might not find exploring on your own. Thanks for a great experience.
