Not a wildlife tour! Eco-terrorism. At 20 mph holding on for dear life one cannot even really look at trees!

The dry forest is one of my favorite places in the world. I can no longer hike to get where I want to be, so we wondered if this tour would be appropriate for us. I e-mailed and was told that yes, we should bring our binoculars and would enjoy it. But all we did was churn through the dust at 20 mph. The guide didn't point out anything - and with the speed and the noise, no one would have heard. The advertising is completely wrong, terribly misleading, and the experience was awful. I was not expecting waterfalls in March or many animals at 11 in the morning, but there were beautiful trees we whizzed by without notice.

This ATV tour that you reserved is designed for an exciting adventure off the beaten path to explore wild areas inaccessible by car and normally people love it as you can see by the many favorable reviews we have. We take back roads to explore the area. The trip is not as focused on wildlife viewing although we do sometimes have the chance to see some wildlife on the tour but usually the noise keeps the wildlife at a minimum. We will review any descriptions we have to ensure that the tour description matches what the experience is. We have many other tours that are much more focused on bird watching and wildlife that we offer and we apologize that this particular tour was not the right fit for you. One of our most popular tours is sloths, monkeys & waterfall in the rain forest and you can see many wonderful reviews about it. Our job is to make sure you experience the tour you wish and I apologize that we didn't come through for you and I can tell you that we feel badly if you are disappointed. Amazing adventure through the dry rain forrest

We had an amazing adventure on the 2 hour ATV tour. We chose to do the double rider option. The check-in process was seamless and the staff was very helpful getting us ready for our tour through the dry rain Forrest. Be prepared to get very dusty on the trip and if you can wear sun glasses under your googles to prevent the dirt from getting in your eyes. I do not want to spoil any surprises but bring a towel just in case. The ATV tour was one of the coolest excursions we had during our trip and we would highly recommend it. Pura Vida

Dusty ride and no waterfalls even when adverstised.

Arriving at the beach and spending a few minutes there before going back was the best part. The receptionist, a young lady, is not polite and does not inform you of waiting time or what to do. She seems to be bothered by any questions she is asked. The guides are great but our machine broke and needed a new battery in the middle of the trip. All the ATVs have seen much better times and have many hours on them. The trip is very dusty so I recommend wearing a mask or facial cover and gaggles they provide. Overall a decent experience but nothing great. A bit pricey when compared to other ATVs outside Guancaste. Saw a few monkeys but no other special fauna or flora. Groups are treated as cattle to be pushed through as fast as possible so another group can go next. But that seems to be the norm for Congo Trail and Diamante. They won’t advertise as such but those are the places you end up at when you purchase on line. There are no waterfalls to see since there hasn’t been rain so ask ahead of time.

Thank you for the review. I am sorry that we didn't meet up to your expectations. July is right in the middle of our rainy season and we don't normally have any dust and there is an over abundance of water in the waterfalls and the rivers for rafting. July is a very busy month due to family travel from the states and spring break for Costa Rican Nationals so maybe that is why you felt rushed, I apologize for that. As you can see by our other reviews it is really unusual for us to get a three star rating. We really appreciate you taking your time to write the review and we will speak with Congo Trail to ascertain we can eliminate future problems. On a brighter side, we are happy you had the opportunity to see our beautiful Guanacaste beaches and appreciate our professional guides. Hopefully you will return and try some more of our adventure tours. PURA VIDA and best regards

When getting wet is a ton of fun.

I took my sister to Costa Rica for her 50th Birthday. We decided to take a tour on the ATV's and it was so much fun. The ATV's have plenty of power and the trails were fun and invigorating. It was a great way to spend our morning and also see a lot of the beautiful scenery around the area. The puddles were fun too.

Congo Trails was very well organized. They even picked us up. I enjoyed going through the water and seeing animals especially the monkeys! I did lose my cheap sunglasses, so be careful with your belongings.

Thank you, we are happy you had "fun" Our goals are always "safety" & "Fun" so we are happy that you achieved both. The monkeys certainly provide a lot of enjoyment. There are many of them in the trees wearing sun glasses and hats so you have to be careful with your belongings. The ATV tours are very popular as you can visit a lot of terrain and see our amazing wildlife in less time than hiking or horseback (which is also fun) Hopefully you will try some of our other adventure activities such as whitewater river rafting, waterfall rappelling or our monkey, sloth tour that is very popular. We did a family tour which included a 20y.o., 15. & 8y.o. It was such a fun time!!! Everyone enjoyed! The scenery is gorgeous, driving the ATV’S on rough terrain is lots of fun. Little farm with rabbits and a couple of Sloths.The staff were extremely courteous and helpful- just the nicest of people. Our tour guide was the best- nothing was a big deal!! Looking for a great family activity-go for it!! You won’t be disappointed!! Excellent experience! Thank you!

Favian was a great guide and gave us a choice of where we wanted to ride. We saw a variety of different terrain including riding through rivers, which was super fun. Ended up being a private tour with just me and my boyfriend. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!

First time riding a ATV! Went over how to ride and work the machine before take off. Very adventurous! Takes you to a beautiful stunning beach! Well worth the money. Got to see monkeys at the end :)
