Very good tour, could have been better if we did not get rained out

Overall this tour was very good. Our guide was knowledgeable and experienced and we started out the tour with torches in our hand. It was very slippery since it rained throughout the 2 hours we were taking this tour, but the guide warned us of it. He found littlest creatures such as tarantula, frogs size of a fingernail, spiders, crab etc. We were hoping to see a snake or armadillo but due to rain, a lot of the animals were hiding. But the guide explained the nature of animals as well as the plants around it well, used his laser pointer to point to very tiny creatures and all in all, it was a good tour. Well worth it.

Not to be missed when in Monteverde! I was a little apprehensive but with a small group, it was less scary to be wandering around the jungle at night and it was an amazing experience. I definitely got the best nature critter photos during this tour and we even saw tarantulas. Amazing how the forest comes alive at night in a way so drastically different than the day. Highly recommend it!

I was the only English speaker in the a group full of Spanish speakers and the guide was very accommodating. He pointed out many critters and insects and, even though there was a torrential downpour for a bit, it was still a great experience for the price

This tour was very enjoyable. I think I was expecting more frogs than we saw, but we did see lots of very cool things--frogs, bugs, birds, Kinkajous. No snakes on our visit, but they were definitely around, and the guide was very diligent and careful to protect our group and make sure we were aware of the potential dangers. Definitely a good value! It's very hard to take good photos at night. If you really care about this, spend plenty of time practicing at home before you go. The guide has a lot to show you and a set schedule. He tried to be very accommodating, but you can't spend too much time trying to get the perfect photo.

We had a good time on this tour and got to see a couple of animals however, I think the quality of experience may be contingent on the guide you get. Our guide was nice and knowledgeable, but was only filling in for someone else that night, so it seemed like it could have been better. Overall it was fun though.
