Ruins were great....everything else not so much

We booked the 3x1 excursion, which was supposed to be Tulum, Coba and Cenote. We ended up with the 4x1 which included a stop at Playa Del Carmen. We purposely chose the 3x1 because it was going to be a long enough day, and after our family discussed it, we didn't want to book the 4x1 so being forced to do it wasn't that great. My and my husband have done the Tulum excursion with another company 2 years ago and it was amazing. This time we had other family with us and wanted them to experience it. This entire excursion was nothing but RUSH, RUSH, RUSH!! No time to explore/experience anything at all. We didn't get through all of Tulum because we didn't have time. The stop at the cenote - nowhere did it state that you would have to rent the life jackets!! This has always been included in any other excursion we did. The fact that it wasn't even mentioned and we didn't account to bring money for that, only my granddaughter could get the life jacket...but she wouldn't go in a lone (she's 8) so none of us got to do this part of the excursion. Absolutely disappointing!!! The buffet lunch was decent. We knew no drinks were provided with the excursion so we planned for this. The food was great. The staff were less than welcoming. Probably tired of the rushed tourists coming through their restaurant. Watching one of the staff members literally kick a tiny stray puppy was heart wrenching! :( Coba - the ruins itself were amazing!! But again everything else was horrible. Unless you chose to rent the bike or taxi you literally will need to run the very long trail to the ruins...run up the ruins quickly....and run back to the shuttle. Zero time to enjoy any of it, and zero time to stop and even take a quick look at all the other ruins you pass along the way. Our driver was fairly rude with me when I returned to the shuttle because I was about 4 minutes late because I simply couldn't walk any faster. The whole thing was such a disappointing excursion and if you want to actually enjoy these beautiful sights, I would book somewhere that focuses on 1-2 things instead of trying to rush you through all this. Will not book through this company again.
