very expensive for that kind of tour … we dont understand why Nicholas (tour guide ) keep on telling us that he needs to ask permission to enter this theater and the other small theaters .. we paid for this tour and people working there should expect us tourists walking around looking .. we did not see the MAIN THEATER .. so disappointed .. most of the things that he showed us inside … we can see that from the outside of the opera house .. unbelievable … we bought tour and dine at the opera kitchen food was horrible .. chicken burger for my husband (he said kfc is better ) ragu pasta for me (seems like its a left over from last night and just reheated in the microwave ) for $ 160 waste of money

The tour is great and our tour guide was amazing. I just wish the tour would have explained that the opera house was under renovation and you could not see it. I still would have booked it but it is not a tour of the main opera house until it is done in July. You do get some of it but not the main house. Super informational and I learned a lot!

Very interesting! Seeing all the venues except Performance Hall which was under renovation was so fascinating. The attention to detail with both the structure design and interior design is mind blowing! Our guide, Jessie, was charming and so informative. The history about the architect Otzen and the political turmoil that short changed him was heartbreaking. This is a must do I’m Sydney. Just taking pics of the exterior is just not enough.

The tour was fantastic. It's just that one should know to get there early as you have to get in the line to get the tickets. Some of the tours sell out so we went at noon to get the tickets and all english tours were sold out for the remainder of the day. Had to take the tour the next day. Wish I would have known in advance, I would have gone the day before to get the tickets.

VIATOR DID NOT TELL US TO CALL THE OPERA HOUSE FOR SPECIFIC TIME. The voucher stated go to box office for exchange for ticket. DANNY AT BOX OFFICE WAS EXCELLANT, EXCELLANT, EXCELLANT!!!!! Thank you so much Danny for fitting us in. He felt so bad every time was filled till noon. We were there at 8am to get on the 9am tour. Do not book this tour unless Viator changes their instructions to call for a timed appointment. Call the opera house directly for tour. Be save not sorry.

Do not be worried if you have mobility issues. They have a handicap tour every noon that takes you to see all of the wonderful theaters utilizing backstage elevators. It also enables you to see many sections of the Opera House unavailable to the regular tours

Tour was great. Guide very knowledgeable. Our group luck out and witnessed rehearsals for both the ballet and the symphony. Some great views of Sydney Harbour Bridge. We opted for the taste on the Opera House as well. Expecting a small morsel and a drink we were surprise by a four course lunch platter with shrimp, oysters, sushi, fries, etc. It was a great way to top off the tour.
