Small Group Chianti at Sunset Wine Tasting Tour from Florence

Our tour guide Daniele was fantastic, but the corporate side is truly terrible. We did our first tasting and then on our way to the main event (the sunset winery tour and tasting) it got dark and we finally asked what was going on. He admitted that they were using a new winery that he hadn’t been to before and was lost. The roads were dark, unrailed, unpaved and mountainous. He asked if we wanted to continue to try and find it and our whole group unanimously agreed no as we didn’t feel safe and we’re all car sick. Our original return time was scheduled for 9pm, we returned at 9pm without having done the actual farmhouse wine tasting. We requested a 50% refund which corporate declined and so now we want a full refund for having to deal with this, they are fighting us every step of the way. Totally rude and zero customer service. Find a different tour group.

Maurizo was just the greatest host. He was fun and entertaining as well as informative. I took my daughter and her friend from school and had a blast. I highly recommend this tour

Dmitri is an amazing guide and gives you ample time to enjoy parts of the tour yourself. He took us to a quaint little town, or as he says ‘the enchanted town’.

Demetri is the a phenomenal tour guide! He picked us up at a convenient location in Florence and took us on a wonderful scenic drive through Tuscany. He was super friendly and provided excellent information about the history of wine production in the Chianti region, along with other great tidbits about Italian culture, how pigs are used to hunt for truffles, how olive oil is made, etc., etc. He allowed us to ask lots of questions and provided great answers! We're total wine nerds, and he was able to go into some serious depth on the topic -- but I gather it was more because of the questions we asked. That is to say, if you're not a wine nerd he probably won't bore you with it :) Upon arriving at the winery, Maurizio took us on a tour of his vineyard and his wine-making process. He was funny, friendly, and extremely enthusiastic about his wine. We tasted four wines -- a sav blanc, a merlot, a Chianti classico, and a Chianti superiore. All four were EXCELLENT! Really, really good wines (and generous pours!) We noticed that he also produces a Syrah, and he insisted upon opening a bottle just for us -- it was also fantastic. We wound up buying a case, which was very reasonably priced and never "hard sold" to us (i.e., if you don't want to buy wine there was no expectation that you must). After the winery, the tour continued through a neighboring village, was like walking into a fairy tale. Extremely historic and charming. Next, we visited Greve in Chianti, and finally stopped off at the Michelangelo Plazza in Florence before returning to where we started. This tour was one of my favorite things I did my entire time in Italy, and I highly, highly, highly recommend it to you!

Great semi-private tour that turned to private because of no shows. Loved the passion from the owner and the way we were educated by Mauricio. Very friendly and treated us like family.

This tour was awesome! Giovanni was our guide and was super knowledgeable about the area, having lived there his whole life. Maurizio’s winery and property are absolutely lovely. The wine is fantastic, and I can’t wait for my order to come in. The meat shop we went to was also fantastic. Giovanni explained many of the meats and how they are made, and also what makes some so special coming from each region of Italy. We had the best time! Giovanni also shared many recommendations of things to do in and around Firenze, which was nice since we did this on our first day in town. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing guide, Dmitri, who was so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, who seemed to genuinely care about the region he was sharing with us. The drive through Chianti region is absolutely beautiful and he stopped a couple places off script to let us take pictures at great views. The family winery we stopped at, Mauricio Brogioni, was quaint and beautiful. The winery was small enough that he could easily give short tour and tell you what you want to know, featuring the wine, of course, but as great, the olive oil. The wine was spectacular and the snacks to pair with each of the five we tasted was perfect. We really enjoyed the whole trip.

Great tour guide, he was so funny and spoke English very very well. He knew a lot about wine and the Tuscan Hillside. WE did the small group wine tasting and the winery was so beautiful and the owner was so funny and had great English too. Very beautiful, very fun.

Just an a memorable trip around the Tuscan landscapes, everything was amazing: wine, locations, guide and the wine maker were fantastic, white and Merlot are rare gems! Thank you again, we appreciate it a lot

We had a brilliant trip with Dimitri as our guide. He was top class, very knowledgable, accommodating, genuine and polite, he really made a great difference to our trip. We visited a butchery, wine tasting and then had dinner. It really was a brilliant trip and would recommend to anyone. We benefited from being the only people booked on to this tour and so had a private trip, so we were very lucky. Ok value for money, it was a lot but worth it, would re book.
