Uffizi is a must see. The works of Art and History are magnificent. Make time in the morning, so you have time to take in Florence .

Skip this tour for self guided audio

All around this tour was a miss for our group. We first couldn’t find the meeting point, which just has an address with no instructions but it’s in a main plaza so there’s hundreds of people and it was very unclear where to meet. We finally did find the group and jumped right into the tour. Let me start by saying we’ve done dozens of wonderful tours with informative and engaged/engaging guides and this was far from one of them. I’m pretty sure the guide was just reading from a script. The guide wouldn’t pause for questions and when you would interject with a question, he gave a half or confusing answer and then immediately moved on. In fact one question my father asked, he rudely corrected him and then didn’t answer the question. We walked away feeling like this was a waste of time and money and wished we just did the self guided audio tour instead. This comes to my top tip- the end of the day when tours are not running through the museum is an entirely different experience! The tours all start at the same time so while we where with our group, it was mobbed! But after, the museum emptied out and was so much more enjoyable!

Great stories, suitable for middle school kids

We took the Uffizi Gallery tour with two kids, aged 11 and 8 years old. The tour had the right pace and we covered about 15-20 of the main paintings. The guide was an excellent storyteller and really brought the paintings and history to life. The time flew by. The only downside is finding the meeting point, which takes effort.

Pretty good overall

The guide was very knowledgeable on the subject of the paintings- it was a great art lesson -However, it would be good if sometimes you’re mindful of how you phrase the color of persons in Renaissance paintings as being the ultimate standard of beauty else indirectly you can offend people of color.

As advertised the group was very small which was great as it allowed us to follow the guide easily and stand around him to the extent that it was possible in the Uffizi Gallery. Our guide Antonio was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about art. I know very little about art and museum and gallery visits wouldn’t normally be at the top of my list and yet I found the tour quite fascinating. The only negative for me were the crowds as I went during the peak season (June) and the headsets on all of the Florence tours I’ve been on have only one earphone. It’s fine most of the time but Uffizi Gallery got very loud because of the crowds and I suggest that the tour operator adopt a two earphones headsets. I genuinely think this would help the experience and drown out the noise from the crowd. Still giving the tour a five star rating though as it’s really worth doing whether you like art or not as there are a lot of interesting stories behind each piece.

Our guide Isabella was amazing & really good at her job. She managed to herd a group of 9 of varying ages. She made the tour such a pleasure & so informative. I have been to the Uffizzi many times and she was still able to make it a different experience.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. He shared pertinent historical background and pointed out key points about the artwork. It made it easy to get the most out of the limited time I had to spend at the museum.

Could not view paintings...

Could not view paintings well due to crowds. Took over 1 hour just to get into the gallery. Tour operator combined 2 groups so instead of less than 10 people, we had 24 in the group. Definitely not worth the charge.

Superb Tour with Incredible Guide

Learning about the history of the Uffizi as well as the history of the art itself was fascinating. We walked away having learned so much more than we would have otherwise, and the guide was friendly, responsive, charming and extremely knowledgeable. It far exceeded my expectations :)

Very Informative, did feel rushed

We scheduled this tour for 4pm on the day that we arrived in Florence. We had no trouble finding the contact person who told us where to wait for our guide. It was wonderful not having to wait in the long line of people. Our guide was very knowledgeable and has been giving tours for decades. We definitely learned more about the art that we saw as a result of her commentary . We do wish that she had brought more joy to the experience. She was a bit stern, scolded others in the museum when she was talking, and we often felt rushed, with the tour concluding in 1 hour 20 minutes. I would recommend doing the tour earlier, instead of our scheduled time of 4 PM. The museum closes at 6:30, so by the time we took a break for a refreshment after our tour was over, we had very little time to go back and revisit the areas that we wish we had been able to stop and absorb a bit during a tour. Overall I would recommend this tour to others. You truly gain so much more with an informed guide sharing information with you and focusing you on important pieces.

Antonio our guide was great! He was funny, witty and very knowledgeable. It was a two hour that didn’t even feel like 2 hours and then we were able to roam freely. It was nice to have the tour in English and met others. Perfect tour!

Wonderful tour! Our guide skipped over many of the objects but in return, we got much more history of the most important exhibits. I have a new appreciation for the art works!

I met up with my uncle while he was visiting florence and he had never been on a guided tour before. It was great to skip the line and we booked the day of. The tour guide Dahlia (hope I spelled that right) was very knowledgeable and the tour was the perfect amount of time and allowed us to spend more time exploring on our own after. Definitely would recommend this tour to other visitors or anyone who is interested in art.
