In the morning, meet your guide at Marseille’s Old Port and board a comfortable minivan for your full-day tour. As you make the drive north to Aix-en-Provence, learn a bit about the chic university town with ancient Roman roots. 

You’ll have time in Aix to independently explore. Get some tips from your guide before you head off to visit Aix’s diverse markets, green spaces and cosmopolitan boulevards lined with boutiques, cafés, and eateries. Have a leisurely lunch (own expense) before reconvening with your group for the next leg of the excursion – a journey through Provence’s lavender country.

Drink in the signature beauty of the Valensole Plateau as you course through the painted hills. In Valensole – a Latin-based word meaning ‘valley of the sun’ – the Mediterranean climate combines with fertile earth to create a perfect environment for growing lavender and almond trees. We had a great day. Loved our time in Provence shopping. The visit to Valensole was amazing. We had the best lunch there. Even though the lavender wasn't in full bloom, it was still beautiful! Our guide was very sweet and informative.

First, we visited Aix-en-Provence and there was a nice market. After this we visited Valensole village, there was plenty of time to shop and have a dinner. Valensole is very nice village. Lavender fields are incredible. We saw two fields and made photos, additionally there was a sunflower field too.

I had a wonderful excursion to the Lavender fields, our guide was lovely. We were in Aix-en-Provence for two hours to explore the town, then went to Valensole and then finally to the Lavender fields. The flowers were in bloom and it was a spectacular sight. Then we stopped at a local lavender/honey/olive oil producer for some tastings. Overall it was worth it and I would totally recommend it.

First of all, we didn't go to Lavender Fields, we went to A Lavender Field. And that one lavender field was on a farm that had merchandise to sell. I felt the same about the two hours we spent in Aix, we were there not to site see but to boost the economy, which what we did by paying for the tour. I will be more skeptical of promises of such tours in the future.

The scene was great! The lavender fields in the rural Southern France was amazing. It coloured the countryside with purple, pink and together with the blue sky, these formed one of the best memory of my travel life. The guide was amazing that she had much knowledge about the area and told a lot of stories. The trip was brilliant.

We loved Aix-en-Provence . We did get a good walking tour first to get the lie of the land, so to speak. The Lavender fields were disappointing because the buds hadn't opened - not anyone's fault, of course but an alternative could have been offered.The following drive around to a couple of villages seemed a bit aimless (partly because one village was closed off) |We were asked what we would like instead but didn't know the area. It was very annoying to be dropped so far from the hotel. We were told this was because the road was closed but there was traffic still going in both directions. (I think it was to be closed off later for the music festival). I feel you should stick to promised arrangements. We had quite a bit of extra distance to walk because we weren't actually staying at the hotel. It would be much better to be picked up and dropped off at our accommodation, instead of having to make our way through rowdy crowds, after walking the extra distance. Also, the vehicle was much too crowded. .
