Bad tour. Not the guides fault.

The guide had great knowledge, but the tour was the worst I have ever been a part of. No lights were allowed to be on.So we had to go in a balcony section where no one could see. I cut on the light on my phone so we could safely enter the pitch black dark room and saw the chairs stacked on top of each other. Someone could have easily gotten hurt. I understand there are times when circumstances are limited, but money should have been returned. I said nothing because we didn’t want to embarrass the guide.

We booked the guided tour in the price of 30 Euros per person but if you visit the theater you can enter with 9 Euros per person included the the museum and the boxes of the opera. Also there is a free app you can download that includes guided tours 1000 times better than the one we played for. Our tour operator was Zani Viaggi

The guide was the best. I can’t remember her name but not only could we understand her but she knew so much history. Utterly amazing. I think it all depends on the guide. And the small group was great. You walk/ stand for 3 hours so be prepared.

The tour of La Scala was excellent. We got to sit in the theater boxes, watch a few minutes of a rehearsal, tour the museum, walk thru the reception areas, and see schematics of the newer rehearsal spaces. The pace was frenetic and we didn’t get to spend much time at any place. There were tours ahead of us and behind us so we had to keep moving. Nevertheless we were glad we had taken the one-hour tour and felt the guide imparted interesting information. Just wish we had more time…

We were hustled through small rooms in a large group. Some of us could not even see what the guide was talking about. Then told second floor was closed. Then got to the grand foyer and that was blocked off. When it came time to see stage and orchestra pit they opened 3 boxes for about 25 people.

I booked this guided tour just before going to Milan. When I arrived I had the tour guide to myself. The tour guide was friendly, spoke good english and was very informative. The tour included a walk through the museum with lots of interesting facts about La Scala and it's history. It ended with viewing the inside from one if the boxes. Overall it was good but you spend most of your time in the museum with maybe 5-10 minutes in the actual opera house.

This is no "behind the scenes" tour. There's no value to this compared to just buying a ticket and walking around. She stood in front of a diagram of the theater and read the text printed on the screen.

The tour guide was very informative and the museum part of the theatre was very interesting. We were very disappointed because we weren't able to do a tour of the theatre because they were rehearsing at the time. It did say on our ticket that depending on the schedule of events the tour could change, but we were still pretty disappointed.
