Airport Transfer Arrivals Plus Tour of Rome

We were a family of 6 mostly adults and all with luggage traveling from the U.S. with a few days stay in Rome before the start of a cruise. We rented an apartment in the center of the city, but couldn't check in until the afternoon or store our luggage there in advance. Since our overnight flight arrived in the morning, we needed a place to store our luggage and, at the same time, we wanted to tour Rome and not waste our limited time watching our bags. This tour seemed like a perfect option for transportation of our group into Rome, storage of our luggage, and a tour of the city before checking into our apartment. We weren't disappointed. Our driver, Stefano, communicated with us in advance of our pick-up, was there on time to pick us up with a sign that showed our name, escorted us quickly to his clean and comfortable van which held all of us and our luggage, and provided us with cold water bottles. We spent the next several hours driving around Rome to the places we wanted to see and at the pace we wanted to see them. Stefano, who spoke above average English and had a great sense of humor, provided interesting background information on the sites, did his best to get us as close to the sites as possible, and then patiently waited for us to return before driving to the next location. At the end of our tour he also got us as close to our apartment as he could, which wasn't easy given the narrow and busy street it was located on. We would do this tour again and would certainly recommend it, as well as Stefano, to others facing similar logistical challenges when arriving in Rome in the morning. Sergio the guide/driver didn't realize he is to talk and guide along with driving. He was RUDE and did not want to be doing the tour! He was constantly on the phone and left us off without us realizing where our hotel was. He left abruptly and I now wished we didn't tip him! I would never take a Viator tour again and unfortunately I booked a Naples tour that makes me nervous!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiziana was sensational. She was super informative as she picked us up and shepherded us around Rome tailoring our transfer and tour to our requirements. There were 6 of us aged 16 to 75 and the tour met all of our needs. It was well paced and interesting. We literally saw all the key the sites of Rome in a few hours with only short walks to each of them. This helped us know which ones we wanted to come back and spend more time at during our stay. I would highly recommend this transfer / tour option for those with limited time to spend on Rome who want to see and learn a lot in a short space of time. Tiziana also brought us to the most sensational Pizza place on the outskirts of Rome to keep us going before we toured around. It was a little Take away place we would never have found on our own. She also had great recommendations for areas where to eat and areas to avoid eating! A great experience.

This was a wonderful way to start our trip! Our guide was so incredibly nice, professional and patient, even though our plane arrival was several hours late and he had to wait for us. Not only was our guide enjoyable, he was also very informative about Rome's history and all the city has to offer. He took us to many of Rome's most important sites, even allowing for a bit of free time, before dropping us off at our hotel. We felt this was the perfect introduction to our Rome trip, with the added benefit of not having to worry about the airport to hotel transfer. Highly recommend!
