Your electric, pedal-assisted bike tour starts at a central Rome location, where you meet your guide and ride out of the city center to the Appian Way. Dating back to 312 BC, the Ancient Appian Way was constructed to connect Rome to Southern Italy and became one of the most important thoroughfares in the Roman Republic.

When you arrive at the start of the ancient road, you can relax and enjoy the scenery while riding on your electric-assist bike—allowing you to cover a lot of ground with minimal effort while you enjoy the fresh air of the Roman countryside.

Follow your guide past ancient sites like the Thermal Baths of Caracalla, the Aurelian Walls, and the Park of the Aqueducts.

Admire rural Italy, and hear stories from your guide about the centuries-old ruins. During the longer tour option, enjoy a guided tour of the catacombs and learn about ancient Roman burial traditions as you delve inside the subterranean tunnels.

Your tour concludes when you return to central Rome.

Great but not for novice bike rider!

Fun tour with a small group. The only way to see via Appia way - loved seeing ancient historical sites the catacombs of San Sebastián on this tour was a bonus as it is believed to be possible burial site of St. Peter. Only draw back was tour guide was from Russia and at times difficult to understand and riding on busy Roman streets (without a bike lane) was at times a bit hair-raising!

Alberto and the tour were fantastic! You will get a “behind the scenes” of Rome. Alberto has additional expertise due to his advanced degree and education. He’s very kind and genuine, and patient! We had a mixed skill level that he accommodated well. There is riding through the city, so riders should be somewhat comfortable around traffic—but he guides you with no issue. Our day was 92 degrees and it was still a lovely ride.

Would definitely recommend to take this tour when you’re in Rome. Our guide Klaas took us along lots of interesting sites and was very knowledgable and enthousiastic. The route we took was excellent, within 10-15 minutes biking you already have the feeling that you are in the middle of the countryside (we even encountered a huge herd of goats crossing the Via Appia).

We had a guide named Klaas and he was absolutely phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed the views, our lunch in the aqueduct park, and the jovial conversation that we had with him. Am looking forward to doing this again next time I come to Rome.

Good bikes. Knowledgeable and helpful guide. I love seeing places by bike and this was a real treat to enjoy understanding some more Roman history. Maria Christina was very careful with everyone in traffic getting away from the shop and kept her eye on everyone while in rural areas. You need to be familiar with cycling as it is described as ‘ intermediate ‘ standard and I would agree with that. We were 6 in the group ranging from perhaps 50’s to 70 plus but were all comfortable on a bike.

Paola is a lovely tour guide! The cycling was awesome and the sights were great as well! When you cycle more often it is a nice and easy tour, if you never cycle it might be a bit hard with the different kinds of paths and terrain. I had a great time!

This tour was so much fun! It was a great way to get out and explore even more of Rome and the surrounding area. The tour was scenic, and takes you to and through so many beautiful areas. Our tour guide provided us with great information at each of the stops. The route was very well thought out and I felt safe riding the entire time. The e-bikes were great and made riding comfortable and easy.

We loved our tour guide. Katerina was fabulous. The electric bikes made it easy. The roads/paths are rather bumpy; it didn’t bother us, but that is something to keep in mind. We learned so much and saw so many amazing things. Whenever I ask the kid’s about their favorite highlights — something from this tour always comes up. We all loved it. Highly recommend.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. What a great experience! My wife and I took our boys 10 and 12 on this tour and it was by far their favorite part of the trip. You get to see some great sites outside the city and learn a lot on the way. Alessandro was a great guide that really went above and beyond and even took us a different route back to the office to get a few more sites in. I highly recommend this tour for anyone going to Rome

Really special

A wonderful time! Our guide, Myrice, was just great -- keeping the bunch of us together and pacing things to match the needs and preferences of the group. I am certainly not as athletic as my husband or our 2 teenaged sons or as some other others on the trip, but with the electric assist bike and the with Myrice's good guidance, I got into it really easily. People who are looking for a greater athletic challenge could just turn off the electric assist, I suppose. Anyway, this bike ride a special, off-the-beaten track experience. Great for families. Beautiful!

Explore another part of Rome in a very pleasant way. It was a nice trip through a lesser known part of Rome on high-quality e-bikes. Our guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and he gave his explanation in a very entertaining way.
