Don't get the big bus hop on hop off

Our bus was nowhere near as good as the other buses. We think there could have been only two buses in total. They were half an hour in between journeys, then the queues had formed and you were lucky to get on. We would definately NOT use this Big Bus hop on hop service again. The other buses all seemed to be more frequent and have more buses!

Was told that the bus tickets were valid for both Big Bus Tour and City Sightseeing Roma buses. Tried to get on the City Sightseeing one at the Vatican stop and they wouldn’t let us on. We had our two year old with us and needed to get back to the hotel as it was near the end of the day and boiling hot. We got rudely told to get off the bus so clearly it’s untrue that the tickets are valid for both.

We paid for the 3 days use and was not able to use it at all. Just didn't have the time. I suggest that this is one activity that you can easily get when you get there instead of buying ahead of time. Just like with us, we wasted our money. Just buy the tickets when you get there. It was not too much more in cost.

Great way to see Rome, but not if you have a tight schedule.

I booked our Hop On/Off tickets before we landed. As soon as we landed, our Colosseum tour was cancelled because of the Pope's plans. One of the BigBus employees, Tarek, hooked us up with a Colosseum tour so we didn't miss it. Don't ride the HO/HO bus if you have a time limit or a specific schedule. It takes a long time to do the entire route as they stop and pick people up which takes a very long time. This is really just for a relaxing trip around the city. Use cabs if you have time constraints. We nearly missed our Colosseum tour because this bus took so long. We had to run and catch a train. The employees are very nice and helpful. Bus is very clean.

Bus rarely dropped off close to attractions. Some spots were mentioned but never seen. Such as The Pantheon. Felt hustled at bus stops about buying face masks. Did not get good feel of Rome.

Standees on top deck a safety issue

Way too crowded. There should NEVER be standees on top deck of open top buses. It is NOT safe at all. Zero mask enforcement (signs all over bus to wear). Does NOT get close to attractions. Do a car/cab tour instead. Disorganized at stops. Not well run at all and I do these in many cities. Save your money and get a small group tour in smaller vehicle.

Good way to get around, but slow in traffic. Biggest problem is the need to get your Viator voucher scanned and validated before you get on the bus: we ran around to multiple information kiosks (as directed) and kept getting pointed elsewhere. Wasted an hour trying to figure that out until we just got on the bus.

Easy to spot each stop and buses were pretty frequent that you could go see your sights and walk back to the stop. Little pieces of information given about the sights was excellent. I was with my 15 year old daughter and we both had a great time.

We purchased tickets for the Big Bus & found that buses were overcrowded (long queues at popular stops) and as there was not an option to book a City Tours hop on / hop off service when we booked online, we were unable to board a city tours bus (same company as Big Bus). The full circuit of 7 stops takes around 1 hour when you could walk it in around 1 hour 40 mins Personally, it’s better to walk

I was excited for this tour as I have done them in other cities. I found this one poorly done and very disorganized. I even had to stand when I first got on as the bus was overcrowded. I found it very difficult to make my way back to the he bus stop which was sometimes a half mile away. I booked it for 48 hours and only used it for about 5. Not worth the money this time.

Really good tour. Really, really poor operation. Big Bus only comes every 30 minutes or so, most often oversold with standing room only. We saw other tour companies pass by as many as three times while waiting for ours. You will most likely lose your #1 rating if you keep this up.
