Directions: The easiest way to reach the meeting point and your guide is via the Metro, from the COLOSSEO stop on the B line. When you exit the station the Colosseum will be in front of you. Go to the left on the same sidewalk until you reach the first stop light. Cross the road and the meeting point is right in front of you where you will see 2 pillars and a gate, as you can see from the pictures attached.

This activity will end right where it started.

  • This is an inside archaeological site and even in summer it can be cold, so you are advised to wear suitable clothing for this tour.

Excellent guides and activity, but the instructions for the meeting point are completely wrong on the app and send us elsewhere. This happened to many parties in the group, who were all running around in 40 degree heat to connect with the tour guide. Once that part will be figured out, the tour can get five stars. Thank you.

We did everything we could to make sure that you got in to make the tour even when you admit that your group was running late and we did get you in. You enjoyed the tour itself and that you thought that the guide was good. The very unfortunate thing that happened is that the company that is the custodian of the Domus Aurea site and the Colosseum for that matter is called Coop Cultura. It was their employee that was aggressive and handled you guys negatively. As I had strongly suggested for you to leave a review on Viator about Coop Cultura to share your negative experience would be helpful. I believe that the rating of 3 stars that you gave us is reflective of your experience with the Coop Cultura employee and not with the service that we provided for you. We kindly ask you to please write a review about Coop Cultura on a separate review and reconsider your review for our tour without the coop cultura's employee's aggression with you as a whole rating mixed with ours because it reflects negatively on us. We took a tour in English. The guide inside the domus was very difficult to understand. She spoke very fast and quietly and the mask did not help. However, the guide who welcomed us outside the domus was easy to understand and hear and was very knowledgeable. Otherwise the domus tour was very good. We saw it for the first time 21 years ago and it was very interesting the progress made since then both in uncovering more rooms and in electronic presentations.

This is definitely a hidden gem. It’s not as awe-inspiring as the more famous Roman attractions but this was my favorite tour in Rome. Small group with very few other tourists around, just one other group present during our visit. Very interesting history and a neat 3D virtual demonstration of what the palace looked like.
