This workshop was such a pleasant surprise. We booked this as a backup after our original plans fell through, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The instructor was very patient and helpful, and everyone's design turned out surprisingly well -- but at the same time, it showed us how much work and skill goes into making these beautiful artworks. Definitely made us appreciate the mosaics in St. Peter's much more than we would have, and we all had a unique souvenir. Would recommend!

Learned about the restoration of mosaic. Lots of real life examples of the work the workshop does. There were several patterns to choose from. Instructions were clear and precise. Lots of help if needed. And I came home with a mosaic that I like. The class inspired me to look for mosaic workshops at home.

If you’re thinking of booking this experience, do it. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The hosts are experts in this field and provide guidance and suggestions as you progress through your mosaic. There are many designs and colors to choose from for your mosaic so whatever you produce will be entirely unique.

What an amazing experience! Such a treat to learn about the art of mosaics in a studio that’s so prominent in the field. The teacher was fantastic and the workshop was very accessible to all levels of experience or artistic talent. It was mellow and fun. They played music and we talked throughout. This class was amazing. I am an art history lecturer who likes to focus on process. The young women in the studio are all full of very pertinent information about Roman Mosaics, their history, context and restoration. There were 3 of us in the class and I believe we hung onto every word of the instructors. The process was challenging but completely doable. We left the studio happy and buoyed by our experience with our creations in hand. I will take this class again and try a more complex design the next time I am in Rome. When I teach the art of the ancient world again the lectures on Roman Mosaics will be more enhanced as a result of this class.

I learned so much about the history and making of mosaics and as a result, it enhanced my appreciation of the many and gorgeous mosaics one sees all over Rome. It was a great class.
