This activity will end right where it started.
Meet for this walking tour of Rome in the early evening before the lights of the city begin flickering, and then set off on foot to begin your tour of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Your first stop is at the Pantheon, where you can snap pictures of the beautiful structure under the moonlight. Afterward, follow your guide to the nearby Trevi Fountain, a true icon of the city and one of its most valued treasures. If you’d like, you can drop a coin in the fountain for luck before moving on (own expense).

Continue following your guide to Capitoline Hill, and catch a glimpse of the Roman Forum and its famous ruins that are still standing from the days of the Roman Empire.

Your last stop is at the impressively large Colosseum. Once a place that was packed with crowds and booming gladiator fights, it now serves as a reminder of ancient Roman history. Your guide shows you around its exterior walls as you learn little-known facts about the amphitheater.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Colosseum
We begin this magical walking tour of Rome at sunset. First passed the majestic Colosseum and then around the Ancient Roman Forum – a valley which rests between the Palatine Hill and Capitoline Hill. The Forum signified the political, religious, and commercial center of the city and it is here, lying between glorious temples and arches that Julius Caesar’s body lays in an altar which can still be visited today.

Stop At:
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
We leave the ancient world from Capitoline Hill and continue on to Piazza Venezia, where you will admire the Altare della Patria – one of the most amazing monuments and sights to visit in Rome.

Stop At:
Trevi Fountain
This passeggiata (leisurely Italian walk) allows you to witness the most famous monuments in Rome, now illuminated at night. Your Rome by night walking tour would not be complete without a visit to the next stop - the Trevi Fountain. The largest and most famous fountain in Rome, the grandiose Trevi Fountain has been the subject of many stories and movies over the years. And recently restored, it is brighter and more beautiful than ever before.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At:
Pantheon
Our night walking tour continues through the characteristically narrow Roman streets to the square of Santa Maria della Rotonda, home of the Pantheon – whose famous perforated dome still remains the largest and most significant one ever built.

Stop At:
Piazza Navona
This memorable night tour in Rome concludes with a visit to Piazza Navona- a square made famous by its three fountains by Bernini and extremely interesting anecdotes, which our guides will enthusiastically share with you. Good luck finding and communicating with this tour operator!

Full disclosure, although difficult to find due to a rather chaotic meeting point, WE were 5 minutes late (our fault) and missed the tour. The complaint, however is that neither the TEXT or Phone number listed on our Viator confirmation for this tour were responded to when we called. Never...not even to this day. We called Viator who DID respond and seemed more focused on that fact that we were late. We would have been happy to catch up to the walking tour....happy to reschedule. Neither of these requests were honored. It is for this reason that I recommend avoiding this tour.

Ok but only just!

I had great expectations as had just been on a wonderful tour in Florence but this one was lacking. The guide kept apologising when she took us the wrong way - she said “I’m so tired” on numerous occasions but we (as in the walking group) had been kept waiting first for the ear phones and then for the guide herself for over 30 mins. Then the tour was abruptly finished as most of the group dropped off... we were not back at the original meeting point and I was by myself! Her response was that it was “easy” to get back - I do not speak Italian and it was my first day in Rome - it was not “easy” to find my way home - especially in the dark. I felt she had other plans and really just wanted to get god if me. Not good! In saying all this - she was informative and when focused - knew her stuff!

We were there on time and ready to go. After making the international call to the tour company, they said Viator was notified but we never were! Paid and confirmed so now I get to fight to get our money back for getting stood up when we get home.

This was such a great tour! My husband and I now want to go for any city tour at night because of this tour. The tour guide was great. She loved Rome and her passion really came through. She helped us with quite a lot of 'perfect picture' spots too.

This was an excellent tour! We had the best tour guide, but I don't remember his name. We had little radio things with ear buds and the guy talked into a mic, so it was easy for us all to hear everything he said. He really knew a lot of history and kept us entertained the whole time.

We've done this tour a few times over the years ... it's a 'must do' when in Rome. We always chose the 6.30pm trip which finishes around 9.00pm - just in time for dinner. If you haven't been to Rome before we recommend doing this trip early in you stay as it familiarizes you with the city - helps in finding your bearings for the rest of your stay. Excellent value. Obviously a bit of walking but the pace of the whole evening is relaxed so nothing really strenuous.

We had Reneta how was a fantastic guide. She was ver knowledgeable about the history of Rome and we found her to be very engaging. On this tour you certainly learn some interesting facts about Rome and would certainly recommend to people who want to learn more about the city. There is a lot of walking involved, so be prepared.
