If you have a guided tour and want to be there in time keep in mind it can take up to one hour to pass the security check.

No enough information
Laurette_J
, May 2022
Being my first time to St Peters it would have been more helpful to have additional information before we arrived. We arrived ten minutes early for our “skip the line” tour to not know where we where to meet our tour guide and to wait in 40 minute line for security. I did not see many lines for other tours. When I called to guide they told me they could reschedule the tour. That would have be fine if we did not have other tours lined up later in the day. St Peter’s Basilica is breath taking itself. This tour need to provide more information so you can plan your day accordingly

We arrived early & told at desk guide there at 1030 with yellow flag. I was waiting with 1 lady from Norway & couple from USA. We couldn't see a yellow flag so went back to desk to ask. The lady said he's out there & took us to guide. Yellow flag had a few yellow flimsy ribbons on it plus was not being shown. No explanation on using receiver to hear guide. Needs to be clearer & louder plus take control & lead by saying ' good morning, can everyone hear thru your receiver'.

The jazz band were brilliant, very talented musicians. Food very tasty. The service was absolutely appalling and ruined the evening for us. We left early. Wouldn't recommend I'm afraid.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "SKIP THE LINE"
Bente_O
, May 2022
We went there 30 min earlier to make sure that we found the guide. There was a HUGE line, at least 2 hours to get through security, and since we paid for "skip the line", we did not expect to stand in that line, so we did not make it in time. Our money was refunded, but why pay for "Skip the line", when it is free to enter. So heads up for you who want this tour, be there at least 3 hours before to make sure you make it.

We have been to many European cities and seen many wonderful buildings but the Basilica is the by far the most impressive building we have ever seen! A guided tour is a "must do" as our guide Volodomyr done a great job of educating us on all the amazing history linked to the building. Daniel and Sarah

Mind-blowing experience !
Yordanka_D

Mind-blowing experience ! Tour guide was very knowledgably and fun to listen to ! Very humbling experience to see this kind of beauty. Only thing I would say is that instructions are not quite clear to warn there are massive queues to get into the Basilica so although it asks of you to be there 15mins earlier, half hour would be more adequate.

The Basilica is worth the line!
Lindsay_C

The Basilica is unbelievably beautiful. It’s so ornate, and there is a ton of history inside. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Vatican City. Yes, the security line can be a little tedious. I waited about 35 min, but I’ve seen reviews where some waited for an hour to go in. I thought it was worth it, personally.

A religious point of view
Raquel_P
, Apr 2022
Although the guide was a very nice and a friendly person I think his explanations focused too much on the religious side and not enough oh the architectural and historical aspects of the Basilica.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Raquel, Thanks for the email. We are sorry to hear you found the experience a bit too much oriented on the religious side. We will try to talk to the guide you had during your tour and ask to adjust her explanation. Never the less we are taking guest into the biggest church of the world and for sure the temple of christianity. Best regards
