Bad tour

The private guide/driver told us he had not been to Innsbruck in over 4 years prior to our private tour. And we found that neither the tour company nor the tour guide had done research ahead of time. If they had, they would have known that the main item we were there to see (the ski jump and Olympic village) was not open on Mon or Tue. We were there on a Tuesday. If we had listen to the advice of the tour guide about having lunch at the restaurant at the top of the ski jump, we would have gone hungry. Luckily we had lunch at Swarovski with a lovely view of the mountains. As a travel advisor, I will not be recommending this tour company for anything and will let my fellow advisors know as well. We paid a LOT of money for this tour and didn't get our money's worth at all. Just paid for a driver to take us to Innsbruck for the day, we could have taken the train for that and gotten more.

Dear Lucy, Thank you for taking your time writing us a detailed feedback. We regret that the tour did not meet your expectations and we do take every feedback seriously for improvement. We are sorry if there was a misunderstanding regarding lock-down and the situation the past 2 years. Please note, Austria was facing very strict covid rules and numerous lock downs implemented by the government due to high infections numbers. Nobody was allowed to travel even within Austria during that time – so our experts were not back in Innsbruck for 2 years – thus does not affect the knowledge about the running tour – especially by our certified licensed guides. Nevertheless, we agree the opening times of Bergisel ski-jump should have been pre-checked as only few attractions are back to pre-covid operation modus. We are sorry about this, yet our guide was happy to arrange alternatives which you seemed to have enjoyed. Regarding lunch stops and running of the tours. By long-term experiences we usually stop first at Swarovski in Wattens arranging lunch at Daniels, since we know this is an excellent place for a lunch break and do Innsbruck in the afternoons before returning back. Time in Innsbruck is always flexible according to the personal interests of our guests – including a walking tour & coffee break in the old town or visiting other near-by attractions. Again, we do regret that you were not happy with the running of the tour after all … especially since our guide had the feeling you enjoyed your day trip expecting a different review based on the good atmosphere on tour and also the generous tipping from your side. Once more thank you for taking your time and despite not recommending us to your fellow advisor as company – we are glad you had booked two private tours with our company within a few days … receiving a five star over-the-top review … With best regards, your Salzburg Panorama Tours Team

Our guide, Peter, was exceptional! We truly appreciated his extraordinary customer-focused service and his friendly and respectful demeanor. Peter went out of his way to make sure that he accommodated my son's and my itinerary requests by strategically planning the sequence of site visitations to maximize our experience in Innsbruck and at the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. I especially appreciated and valued the depth of Peter's knowledge of the people and history of the regions and sites we visited - I learned so much from this tour! Thanks to Peter, our trip to Innsbruck was absolutely enjoyable, educational, memorable and just plain AWESOME! The tour guide picked us up from our hotel on time in Salzburg. We then had about a two hour drive to Innsbruck - which was delayed on the way back due to the traffic jams. The tour guide gave little insights on the surroundings which was super disappointing. Basically he was pretty much a driver - not a tour guide. Watch out... this tour does not include the entrance fee into Swaroski, which cost us an extra 45 euros for three people.... If I had to do it again, I would catch a train from Salzburg to Innsbruck and take the tour to Swaroski from there. You would save yourself a ton of money and a more pleasant and quicker commute to Innsbruck and back
